SMEADPoly Tab 1/3 Cut, Clear, 25 Per Pack (64615)

Love these tabs! - I use them with Avery Tab Inserts 11137 which I can create on the computer and run through the printer - easy, neat and legible filing system.

Just what I needed to sort files in my cabinet. It was a bit difficult to tell where was an intended fold line versus perforated tear line in the labels, so a few were wasted along the way. At least they come with about 30 labels if you're able to tear them all properly.

They fit and were cheaper than an equivalent product at my local office supply stores. I got 30 paper inserts in the pack of 25 tabs. I handle and reposition the tabs semi regularly and they seem very sturdy, like they will last a long time even if you're pulling them out and putting them back in over and over. Would recommend!I need to regularly change out the labels in the tabs, so I covered each blank paper insert with a piece of clear matte scotch tape and use dry erase markers to write on them. This way, I can erase the old label and write on a new one without having to get new paper inserts. (I assume a personal laminator would be faster and easier, but I don't own one.)

* Comparing the tabs I currently use (purple) with these…You can see the plastic that slides into the folder is taller on this product. That might sound good, but nope. It makes the tabs sit lower in the folder and therefore less of the label is visible.* They do tilt back.* The plastic is thin and flimsy, but once installed in a folder they seem strong enough.* The included labels are just ok. Perforations aren’t the best, need to fold back and forth a few times before you tear. Not something that can go in a printer. 1/2" Dymo labels fit.

Great for updating files

Some brands of these folder tabs are really flimsy, or the labels slightly too large/flimsy. These are neither. Labels are of heavy enough weight they don't crinkle or bunch up when sliding them into the plastic tabs. Tabs are firm, clear plastic but have enough 'give' that they easily slide into the tabs on the hanging folders themselves. An item you can probably buy for less at Walmart or Target, but if you hate the hassle of fighting for a parking spot or hate going out when it's cold or raining, amazon.com makes it easy to avoid both; you just might pay slightly more for the convenience of "chair shopping."

Service was great/fast. The clear plastic tabs are of fine quality, however the inserts which is the paper where you either write or type on is AWFUL! You can not easily tear each one because the perforation is a joke! You will have to use scissors in order to make a clean cut. Also, once its perforated, there is a 1/3 lip that is very hard to fold over before you can insert it into the plastic tab. (I would of preferred no lip, or one that is perforated AND folds 1/2 easily) Lastly, there is NO software or templates available through Smead or anyone else that I could find to create computer generated indexes. I spent about an hour to created one on word.doc but will definitely be choosing a different product next time. I don't mind paying the "A" company a $1 or $2 extra for a quality made product that is computer/printer friendly.

These are the only tabs i will use. They are nice and big. I use a label machine to print out my labels and stick them on the paper tab which is included and then slide it into the plastic cover. Very durable!!
