Durable, strong, delicate in shape, smaller in length: Perfect!
Just what I was looking for: Hard nylon, not softer silicone, and a shorter handle. These are graceful looking and easy to manipulate and hold--and they do their jobs. I'm using the plural here, because I also bought a few other pieces in this set: The same-shape as this one, but a bit smaller and without holes, and a turner. I'm real happy with all three pieces. In a recent interstate move, I lost all my beloved cooking utensils. Oh! I miss them! And they are not made anymore.. And in the configuration of my new kitchen, I realized we kept knocking the regular, longer handled tools out of the pots. So, I went looking for replacements and bought these from Japan and also several ingenious designs from Dreamfarm in Brisbane, Australia.I think I found what I was searching for after I entered "hard nylon" into my search, because I kept coming up with silicone tools--and they just do not do the job for me. Silicone tools all seem too, too large and cumbersome. I was looking for finer, lighter-weight, thinner and more delicate tools. And by delicate I mean in shape, not in durability. Because these are durable and will last a long time without cracking and without getting sticky.Holes at the ends of these are a nice size, too. (The holes on the Dreamfarm tools that I bought are too small to fit on any of my hooks.) These Japanese tools even fit on the Joseph Joseph carousel, if you use one of those.

very lightweight - not for heavy items
Lightweight, flexible nylon tongs. These are for handling delicate items, like plucking tempura out of oil, turning fried fish, serving cold salads, that sort of thing. They're very flexible, meaning if you tried to grip & lift a heavy object, you couldn't, but you can apply variable amounts of pressure to lighter items. For heavy items, you want rigid (usually metallic) tongs.A little pricey for basic nylon tongs, but they work exactly as I was hoping.

usable kitchen tweezers
Haven't had a chance to use them yet, but they seem to be sturdy; however, locking mechanism does not work. Not a problem, however, as they do not take up much space in a drawer or kitchen tool crock.

Does it all.
The Seki Japan Stylish Kitchen Tool functions as a spoon, serving utensil and sometimes spatula. I am amazed at the number of functions I've used it for in cooking. It's manufactured of smooth nylon, very easy to clean. The genius is in the design; it's a very versatile tool. I also have the Seki spatula, which I love. Seki is a quality brand with a top-notch design engineer: someone who understands proportion, use, and function, someone who either works in the kitchen on a daily basis or knows someone who does!. Very pleased.

Great Product; But Note Made in China
Great product. Bought this pair because someone really liked mine after using them and I told them to keep them. I'd pay at least twice as much were it made anywhere else but the PRC, but despite searching, I can't find the equivalent product made elsewhere. I have a couple of other pair of similar but nicer stainless steel chopstick tongs (jumbo tweezers) from Japan which I also like, but these are safe for any nonstick cookware as well. In terms of heat resistance, I have never had an issue, but like most non-stick utensils, they won't take the same heat metal utensils will. Some people wonder about the bar in the middle, but it keeps the individual arms aligned if you are lifting something that is heavy or lopsided which would otherwise cause the arms to twist. In general, I much prefer chopstick tongs over conventional tongs for almost all applications. Once you start using this style, you won't go back.

Form meets function in this cooking/serving spoon!
I don't know where all our serving/cooking spoons went, but I'm glad they did. After searching Amazon a few times, I decided to try this spoon, and I'm very glad I did. The design is genius! The handle is designed to fit well and comfortably in the hand, in a grip which is natural when using it for cooking and serving. The bowl is wide enough, and just deep enough to get a good sized portion; and not have to double dip, which is perfect when serving up a casserole/hot dish, in which some of the contents will slip into the space you intend to scoop up if your serving spoon is on the small side. If you need to set it down, it rests naturally on the heel of the bowl and the end of the handle, making it less likely to make a mess, and easier to pick back up. It's absolutely perfect!Thank you for reading my review. I hope you found it helpful.

Fine product, misleading description
These are lightweight and well-made. The serrated tips are great for grabbing things. But! These do not lock in anyway. This is very disappointing because that’s exactly why I bought them for the loop in the middle is just a guide and that is all.

Favorite cooking utensil
Hands down the best heat resistant utensil to pick up bacon, spaghetti, chicken wings, vegetables, fruit and the list goes on. Also very useful for a buffet to pick up hot food. I would be lost without these.
