Excellent, especially for adults
I wouldn't read these to a little kid. Instead, I'd choose the Pooh storybook collections put out by Disney which have large, lovely colourful illustrations and simplified, kid friendly stories. The dark little scribbled sketches in this book aren't impressive or particularly pleasant to look at in my opinion. But as an adult, I find these original stories much more entertaining to read then the simplified versions with nice pictures. The author doesn't try to hide the fact that he is telling these stories to a little boy (and one who seems a bit pushy at times). The author shows excellent insights for how to tell a story to a kid, and he makes a bunch of comments that will only be meaningful/ funny/ insightful to an adult. I think that's the attraction: it's an adult who is trying and failing to entirely hide the fact that he is an adult, and therefore no longer able to entirely see the world as a child does. Some people call these kinds of books "two level" bc they are fun for kids, but also speak to adults in ways that kids can't/ won't grasp. So if you're looking for short, gentle stories with lovely, non- threatening illustrations, go with Disney's offerings. But if you're an adult secretly looking to get yourself some comfort reading (nothing wrong with that!), then get these by all means. It is shockingly hard to find kid's stories that are truly warm- hearted, and not peppered with disturbing ideas. For minds that are grappling with high amounts of psychological stress, calming stories without any negative "triggers" in them can be very helpful and therapeutic. So consider your purpose in buying these first. And also consider treating yourself to some pleasant reading. We're never too old for a nice story.

lovely stories
Haven't read these for over 50 years and my wife has never read them, it's nice to relive childhood memories, and the stories have not lost their charm in the passing of time.BTW we're both in our 70s

Lovely product but delivery???
I bought this for a Christmas present and it is a wonderful gift of learning for any child with all of the tales and adventures of Winnie the Pooh and his friends all neatly packed together one downside was that the sleeve in which they came was damaged probably due to the flimsy outer packaging, perhaps a cardboard box rather than a paper bag would have been better.
