Great companion and beautiful
First off I gave it a 4 out of 5 on craftsmanship due to the finger guard being about 1/16 of an inch off ( see pic) the blade however is perfectly in line with the handle and pommel, you'd have to inspect to notice. That out of the way this thing is beautiful. Perfect grind lines, smooth finish and comfortable in the hand. Its also quite tough I winced while chopping that seasoned piece of lumber with it again (see pic). But it had no problem its also a good butcher knife and cuts meat easily. Also came hair shaving sharp and has still held its sharpness through testing. The sheath which seems to be a complaint from some seems fine to me, maybe I got lucky. The leather is thick enough , evenly stitched, retaining strap perfect fit and blade fits perfectly with no play. This will b my camping knife this year for sure and is sure to serve well. This knife would right at home on a cowboys gunbelt or a frontuersmans side and if you choose to buy this at its amazing price expect alot of compliments.

Great Quality!
My wife got it for me for Father’s Day, of course I picked it out and had to check the quality of it before she took it back and makes me wait ! I’d seen some bad reviews but mostly good ones and very happy I don’t have a bad one to give . It’s a great looking knife, the grip is perfect, completely aligned with the handle and sharp as heck ! This is my first Perkins knife and it won’t be my last !

My husband LOVED this knife.
It IS a beautiful knife and exactly what he was looking for. It is quite intimidating in appearance to say the least.

Let me start with the good, It came pretty sharp out of the box
Let me start with the good, It came pretty sharp out of the box. I've used it and treated as a knife not an axe and it holds a good edge for a long time, it's easy to sharpen. Has a good feel in hand. The sheath is usable, I had a custom hand made leather sheath made for it. Now the I wouldn't say bad, ify is a better word. The grind a little off and the blade is not exactly in line with the handle like I've read other people write about. Speaking of the handle, the leather handle seems to have little pieces kinda lifting up, not sure if it will get worse it's not bad at all just keeping an eye on it. Keep in mind I use it and I live in the Florida bush so I use it often. I paid $74.00 and I don't feel ripped off at all. I have ka- bars and its actually a stronger knife and feels more capable. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because of the little pieces lifting up. It may not get worse, if not definitely 5 stars. I have 6 knives 2 are ka bars 3 are hand made and this one. All in all worth the money.

The knife arrived quickly and is was as ordered
At this time the Knife has no flaws in craftmanship as far as I can tell. No tang exposure and the Leather handle appears to be nice and tight.. I've only used it to chop down a two inch Pine Tree and the blade through the handle did not loosen up. I then sliced up a Top Sirloin for Beef Jerky. Great edge on the knife and I did not have to resharpen the knife after I used it... 3 day cross country trip coming up where I will put it through it's paces. So far so good.

Much more than I expected!
This is a bad-ass knife. Beautifully crafted and feels very substantial in the hand. This is much better than I expected for the price. The handle is slightly different that the one in the picture. It has a much more pronounce belly to it than the picture, so if you have small hands you may not like it. Very happy with the purchase.

nicely finished knife. shiny
I saw the knife and liked the design so I ordered it. It is very pretty with the polished steel. And super heavy. I have one major concern though. No where on the knife does it state the steel used. All of my knives have that on the knife to let you know what it is made from. 440 has a number of variants, A, B, C. Way back in the day, 440C was top dog. It's not that way now due to advances in metallurgy. But without a label, it could be any steel. The other minor issue is the large ricasso. I would have preferred a longer cutting edge and smaller ricasso. I did not notice that until I got the knife. So the price is very cheap for such a huge hunk of steel. Hopefully, it is decent steel.
