Sennheiser AVX Digital Wireless Microphone System - 835 Handheld Set,Black

This is by far one of the most robust, high-performing, and simple wireless microphone systems I've ever used.I was a TV broadcast technician for 28 years and have spent my last five in the healthcare industry. I've used many wireless systems from Lectrosonics, Sony, Sennheiser, Rode, Azden, and Audio-Technica and this AVX system delivers pro-quality audio in a simple, compact package.I was skeptical at first, but the range and clarity is incredible. My previous Sennheiser system was solid, but required a cable for the receiver to plug in to the XLR input and the antennas were frail and eventually lost their flexible coating. If you're using a compact pro video camera, that means with other systems you need a cold shoe mount and a double bracket if you need more than one microphone--that makes the camera more unwieldy. Not with this system. The receiver plugs directly in to the XLR port, and on those days when I need to run three mics into a mixer, the receivers fit neatly without a hassle. These have a solid build quality, too. The bodypack transmitter is metal, not plastic, and the receiver is mostly metal as well.With this system I recommend sticking with the Sennheiser microphones--spend a little extra and get the MKE2. I tried to use an off-brand microphone as a backup and it did not provide good shielding from interference, so it picked up humming and sometimes crackling. I've never had that from ANY Sennheiser lavaliere microphone.This system is worth every penny, especially if you're working solo.

i’ve used this system before on past projects but always had to rent them until i decided to become an owner myself. the plug and play system is great for gorilla style filming or just as a one man band. i paired mine up with a Zoom h6 recorder to give me full control and they have both been a great addition. although it provides excellent sound, i’m thinking of replacing the lav as i get some static in the most basic of motion but the connectivity will give you so much range and not limit you from being too far from your subject. i see myself certainly purchasing another for more complex projects.

Quality of the mic is great, as expected from these guys. I was transitioning from a single Sennheiser mic setup, to two of these that I can plug into a zoom when I need to mic more than one person. Biggest downside, which I didn't consider before purchse, was that this mic is not powered by AA's (as opposed to my old one). While in some ways this is great (less waste), for long shoots I don't like that I can't just keep some extra AA's in my bag just in case. Have to have time to recharge, or purchase extra battery packs which are much more expensive than AA's.

with big amount of money, the quality is not so good. the wireless connection between the mic and receiver is easily to get lost. with this price and the big brand it is not supposed be like this...I returned the item but the seller requested me to return again, all of records history was disappeared. I suspect it was fraud!

This microphone is amazing. I researched lavalier mics for a long time because I really wanted to get something that would come close to film quality audio as I could get so I could make great videos for my business. This mic was certainly worth the investment and I paired it with a ZoomH6. I couldn't be more pleased with the results. The audio is far better than the Blue Yeti USB microphone I invested in years ago. I'm amazed at how it packs so much quality into such a small device. Moreover, I love that it automatically finds open channels. So I can pick it up and just start recording—it's very much a "pick up and go" solution built for maximum convenience and speed.
