Vacuum that smiles even when I do not.
Do you want a vacuum that smiles even when you do not? Then this will work for you. Henry is always smiling and ready to tackle messes, which in our house tends to be once a month when I bust him out to get after the carpets and the upholstery (the rest of the time I’m lazy and just use our cordless Dyson, which does not do NEARLY as good of a job, but which is slightly easier and therefore appeals to my laziness). The attachments that come with this vacuum are: great. The ability of this vacuum to clean is: great. The fact that this is not more widely-sold in the USA is: a real bummer and probably reflective of the general degradation of our country as a whole. I mean, seriously, this is much, much, MUCH better than department-store vacuums. It’s quiet, which is an enormous plus, but also powerful, also an enormous plus. Kind of like a personal massager: you want it to get the job done, but at the same time, you don’t necessarily want to alert the whole apartment building to what you’re doing. It certainly seems well made, which is lovely as well. Even better, it’s made in the UK, so I’m guessing it’s probably not made by people who I would be totally unwilling to trade places with, which is somewhat important to me. I also get the sense that in the UK companies are probably more likely to get in trouble if they harm people or the environment or try to sneak really dangerous chemicals into their products, so that’s also a plus. Seriously, anything that can help to improve my undoubtedly terrible karma is a good thing. I really do like this vacuum, though - joking aside. It’s straightforward and easy, bags are cheap, and it’s not loud, but seems to be more than able to tackle any mess. Unlike the German-made Miele vacuums, this is both more affordable and has a sense of humor (admittedly, not something I’ve heard Germans are really known for?), which is nice. Unlike the also-from-UK-kinda-if-you-count-Malaysia-as-part-of-the-UK (and, you are more than welcome to if you want to!), this seems much more reliable and it isn’t a mess to empty since you just switch the bags. To be clear, I’ve had both Miele and Dyson, and if I could only have ONE vacuum for the rest of my life, I would choose this Henry over both of those. A+ for Henry, even if cleaning sucks.

Mixed Feelings but So Far So Good
Pros:- Simple design, easy to repair, and parts readily available- Verrry long cord- Good suction- Large bag size so I don't have to refill often- Soft casters don't scratch my sensitive wood flooring- The quietest vacuum I've ever owned- Cord winder is very efficient- Assembly was simple-Cons:- The wand falls apart during use. May have to tape it up or something like others have suggested.- Roll direction - navigating the canister while you're vacuuming is an art. He gets stuck on every doorway 100% of the time.- handle feels flimsy- more tools are included than there are spots to store them on the vacuum.- Customer service was unhelpful with resolving the wand issue.

I am so glad I discovered Henry. I started out angry, but ended up extremely pleased.
I was looking to replace my unwieldy Kirby. I have mainly hardwood floors with area rugs. So I decided a straight suction canister was the best for my needs. I started reading and watching reviews and discovered we could get Henry's in the States. I am a huge Anglophile, so knew of them. I figured if I can't afford an Aga, I would get a Henry. They had excellent reviews, so I ordered one. I decided on the Henry Petcare for the charcoal-infused filter, and turbo brushes. The first Henry I received was covered in some sort of industrial glue or something. I was pretty peeved, to say the least. I packed it up and fired off a couple of pointed emails to NaceCare (the North American distributor), and Numatic (the manufacturer). I decided I was done with Henry. I couldn't believe it had made it out of both companies' warehouses.I looked at other vacuums, read and watched some reviews, and decided that nothing held a candle to Henry. So I held my breath and ordered another. And I am so glad that I did. I unpacked him, snapped on his little face, attached the hose, and commenced to vacuum. I cannot believe how quiet he is. I figured he would be quiet according to the reviews. But I didn't expect him to be THIS quiet. My very skittish Goldendoodle didn't even cower in the corner and pee.The suction is the most powerful I have ever seen. It actually lifted my heavy area rug off the floor. I'm glad that it has an airflow adjuster on the wand. It is not like those I remember on vacuums in the '70s, that whistled like crazy. This one has foam in it that keeps the whistle at bay.The vacuum heads are amazing. It comes with a standard adjustable floor nozzle, a turbo floor nozzle (that is a beast), and a turbo handheld nozzle. The upholstery tool (with a detachable brush), crevice tool, and small tool extension are all pretty good. My only niggle is the dusting brush. It is pretty small. And the suction (even with the relief valve open) pulls the inner bristles in. The filter is very thick. There was absolutely none of that stale vacuum smell you get from most machines. The bags are thick and huge. It will take me forever to fill it.If you are looking for a quiet vacuum that does its job and does it well, get a Henry. There is a model for every need.

I love this vacuum!
I have a short hair dog who sheds a lot. The carpet attachments that come with this product have been so useful for area rugs and the little one has been great for vacuuming the dog bed/couch areas. Lots of great attachments. The round brush is great for dusting surfaces as you vacuum. The bags are around 2.50 each if you get them name brand, but they're big and last many uses. There's some off brand (couldn't find them on amazon though) that sell hepa rated bags for less. The spinning carpet attachments definitely work way better and faster than the standard head that comes on the red henry (this model comes with 3 heads, the standard, a large carpet, and small carpet head). But the standard works in a pinch, you just wont get as deep of a clean. I also just like the green color...
