I have a 100 lb Cane Corso resuce puppy. He is learned commands and obedience. This collar is extremely well made and durable. The black finish looks great and so far it is holding up. No signs of tarnishing or wearing of the finish. Well made.

All you can say about Herm Sprenger is Quality

I prefer HS products for my Rotts and Bullmastiffs. Their quality is great never any sharp points

The chain broke the first use with my black Labrador retriever.

First I am a big fan of most Herm Sprenger products. I have rottweilers and love the black collars for show. This one is a big miss. The black ones seem to stick. Not a good smooth release like the silver collars. Also take off the little ugly black and orange tag on them. We cut them off but they are distracting and have no use. Just stop. We all can tell a Spenger without the tag. And improve the black coating to develop a smooth collar that easily slides and releases. Cannot wait to get an improved black collar. In the mean time I am using my silver ones as these blacks are useless without releasing smoothly. I Have 4 black various sizes from 18” to 26” if anyone can use them. Dm me and I will send them to you. Someone else may have a fix or better luck than me. I am PICKY! Otherwise these are just going in the trash. Shame. But my dogs are not getting strung up in the show ring. They move lovely on a free leash. I don’t have to string them up to get movement. And certainly don’t want a choke that only chokes. Try again on the black and really focus on how they move.
