I have a senior dog with digestive issues as well as typical old age issues. I searched for supplements while we were dealing with another bout of his colitis & finding him a new Rx food. It took weeks to get his new Rx & for the food to arrive , so in the mean time he was eating chicken and rice. He was only slightly hesitant to try the spirulina. I put a little on my finger and after a few sniffs, he licked it off. I sprinkled it on his chicken & rice and he scarfed it down . He’s been eating it ever since.I know the new food has also helped his condition, but I do very much believe the spirulina has helped as well. His flare up disappeared, his coat is shiny again, I’ve noticed he appears to have less aches (far less limping than I’ve seen in a long time, almost zero now- that’s for sure the spirulina ), his gas disappeared & he’s gotten back some of the youthful energy he once had … sometimes playing like a puppy again. Actually ordered again & waiting on its delivery today.

This is a good quality Spirulina. My dog eats it mixed with her Cooked Meals. If you want to give your dog a Healthy Supplement? This works.

The product is exactly how it is described. The smell is quite strong which can be an issue for picky eaters. I partially dissolve this and mix it up with some broth to make it easier for my dog to eat. It does mix quite easily.

The product itself seems to be good quality. By its nature, it is a messy product to use. (Hint: leave the container in a ziplock bag at all times and just reach in to open and dispense.) My dog didn't seem to notice it on her food. Unfortunately, for my dog it did nothing for her allergic itch, even during the winter months when the itching is less severe.

We actually use this for our cats. Our vet suggested this to us because our cats are indoors and they do not have access to eating grass which is really pretty healthy for cats. They would not touch the grass we would grow for them inside. One of our cats in particular was having digestive problems where she regurgitates the food immediately after her meals. This has completely eliminated it. If we run out, she immediately has the problem again. So thankful for this. Our other cat is a more picky eater but he has gotten more used to it in his food over time. We have trained him to "clean his plate" before he gets some small chunks of chicken breast as a reward. ;)

I can't say if it was a benefit to the dogs because I only used about half the jar. I didn't like the powder I would have stuck with it if it was a pill form instead, but that is just me.

This gives my old lady Beagle a nice little boost. I add it to her (homemade) breakfast and she's good to go. It takes only a tiny bit.NOTE: This powder is a deep dark green and it will temporarily stain counters, fingers clothing. Don't fret, it does wash off.

I would give it a 0 if I could. The dark green powder stains everything, and both my dogs hate it!
