Q: On the 6347 model 28L it says the height is 21.7". Can someone tell me the main pocket height please?

The main compartment (big pocket) is just over 20" in height top to bottom when opened. You may gain a little once the top is flipped over and zippered. The width from side to side is 10" give or take and the depth is just over 4" back to front. This is all big pocket. I love this back pack.

Q: Does this pack have an internal frame?

No, it does not have an internal frame. It will buckle in the back if the main pouch is not filled or supported, specially if you have items in the front pouches. To negate this I simply put a clip board in the laptop area of the main pouch when I was not carrying my laptop or anything substantial. Again this is not needed if you keep things like your water bottle, jacket, books, or something in the main compartment. I love this pack for all the storage pockets and its thinner build. Been a very great bag.

Q: Does the 6347-28L have clip-straps on the bottom? Some photos show so, some show just two empty fabric loops. Which one is it?

I have the Mardingtop 28L Tactical Backpack and it has buckles at the bottom. Not sure about the one you are looking at.

Q: How does this bag hold up in the rain?

Took this on Arkansas hikes with family of 3. Light rain not a problem but as with any bag id recommend a cover
