Relief for lower back soreness when playing piano!
Superb leather piano bench for my Kawai piano. The original hard bench began to take it's toll on my lower back & butt after playing for 30 minutes or more. The bench is firm with no pressure on my lower back, so PROBLEM SOLVED!I believe only the top, tufted seat is real leather. The sides are PU leather, which can get more easily be scuffed or damaged. I've not had this problem, but just be aware that only the top is real leather. Also, Griffin's leather bench is Made in China, but the quality is very good, in my opinion. All-in-all, a good value and great investment for me, as I can now play for as long as I wish without discomfort in the butt and back! My wife likes the aesthetic of it better too!!!JPaul

Great piano bench!
The review that convinced me to buy this Griffin adjustable piano bench was actually a review of a different bench from another manufacturer. The reviewer had problem with that bench but mentioned that he/she then bought the Griffin bench and found it perfect.I also found the Griffin bench perfect. It looks great and is comfortable to sit on. It is solid and heavy. There is no squeak and no smell. The height is adjusted by rotating two knobs on each side of the seat in the same direction. It is a fine adjustment. It takes about thirty turns from lowest to highest setting. The mechanism is not visible from the side of the bench. The legs and the adjustment knobs are polished ebony and match our piano perfectly. The bench was very well packed and came double-boxed.

Bench is not for sitting on it, especially not for practicing music
Very unhappy experience in all aspects.Bench itself:Cushion is rock hard. Can not imaging how one can practice piano sitting on it more that 5 min (I am a pianist);Hight adjusting mechanism is very tight and hard to move. On top of it it take endless amount of turns and wrist ache to get it higher. So, if you are a piano teacher - do not even think about getting it.Very heavyIt looks nice and professional though and larger in size then average professional piano benches like Jensen.Return process was a total mess and disappointment.- First of all, seller did not make it clear in the listing that buyer will pay shipping fees, if returning. On top of it seller charges restocking fees. You do not know about this before unless clicking on 'return' button. Basically, their policy made for "no return" purchase.- Secondly, Amazon performed extremely unprofessional.Because the cost of shipping bench back to the seller was more that 60% of the bench' cost, it did not make any sense to send it back for me. Nevertheless, after addressing my concerns to AMAZON multiple times, at least 4 associates confirmed that I should not to worry, but send it back, paying for the shipping and wait for Amazon to reimburse shipping cost.Skipping a few steps of communication with Amazon, I will tell you - Amazon ripped me off. Today in conversation with other Amazon's associate I finally learned, that my claim is denied and closed without explanations, against of the A-to-Z customer protection policy rules, according to which clients in case like mine should be reimbursed. My first and I hope the last disappointment with Amazon for many years of being their client.

Terrific Upgrade
I was so pleased with this bench that I ordered a second one. Excellent comfort, quality and ease. I hesitated at first because of the price. But decided spending so much time on any chair is grounds for investing at today’s prices for a good chair. And glad I did. Geek Stands packed this quite heavy piano bench (Ottoman-like?) with great care and protection. Leather is almost always going to be a longterm better choice than “pleather” materials, in my opinion. One thing to be aware of is the weight. It’s heavy! Not going to easily slide about on a carpet - and it may be wise to stick felt-like pads on the chair leg bottoms for wooden, stone, or artificial hard flooring.

Exactly what I wanted!
This bench is attractive, sturdy, and comfortable. I would have a hard time distinguishing it from a much more expensive Jansen bench.

I'm very happy with my purchase
This actually has a real leather padded top that has very firm padding. Not much space for storing books or sheet music under the seat but that is to be expected because the mechanical parts need the space.

Quality Piano Bench
This is a Quality Bench. For starters the supplier even overwrapped the original box in a second one to protect the package, so it came in great shape. The instructions were straight forward and easy. I have read that others find legs on some benches start to loosen. They may have missed the first part of the instructions to make sure the inner bolt is tightened first, which all but one was, they have good instruction on how to tighten this bolt (took seconds) before attaching legs to bench top. Once assembled, this is one solid Quality Bench. Glad I purchased.
