Awesome controller. My favorite Saturn controller now.
I own the original Saturn controller (version 2), 3D controller, Retro Bit Wireless controller, and Retro Bit Wired controller which are all great. This is now my favorite Saturn controller.- Stiff D-Pad very responsive. When playing a Capcom fighting game, I pulled off all the special moves easily. While playing a shoot'em up game, moved easily in all 8 directions.- Analog stick works great. Every game I've tried, the analog stick worked. That's something the Saturn 3D Controller didn't do. Playing a 3D movement game or a racing game felt great. The size and shape looks and feels exactly like an Xbox One analog stick which is also concave.- All six face buttons were responsive and worked great. Similar size to a standard Saturn controller. Only the larger buttons on the 3D controller are better.- Shape of the controller is slightly bend on the both sides. This makes it fit in your hands perfectly.- Left and right shoulder buttons work well. The only nitpick is that they're not trigger buttons (like the fantastic ones from the 3D controller). I wish the placement were a bit lower. You'll see what I mean as you hold the controller, both your index fingers rests right below the buttons.2/5/20 Update: Received my replacement from Amazon today. I'm very happy to say it works like a charm. All buttons and inputs work nicely. The original one I got was just a defect one. No issues with this one.Hopefully I just a bad controller from a bad batch. Most times when one of the 6 buttons and do 2 quick movements from the D-Pad, it pauses the game. Never happens using the analog though. Still a deal breaker. I'm returning this asap for another one. I will re-review again when get a new one (if it works).

Excellent third-party controller
While I wish it had analog triggers, this controller on the whole is pretty good. Feels good to hold thanks to nice build quality, solid d-pad and left stick, and very responsive buttons.

An updated Genesis controller
I hooked up my old Sega Genesis recently. I discovered the controller's felt odd after using Sony and Microsoft controllers for so long. I found this unit and decided to give it a try. This fits your hands more like a modern controller, the button placement is good, and the input, feedback seems right. If you're like me and want to play some classic cartridge games, this controller may be what your looking for.

Do not buy!! Buttons stick, cheaply made..
This controller is garbage..The first time I used it buttons started sticking. Ill never buy or recomend another Retro fighters product. Id send it back but its not worth the packaging or postage to return it.

Saturn: Fake Analog, Wonky D-Pad, Cheap Plastic
I ordered this controller and used it for a few days before sending it back for a refund. While the controller seems sturdy over all, it has that cheap feel that you typically find in a sub $20 controller. This may not mean anything, but I noticed it!As far as the D-Pad is concerned I found that it was difficult to travel in a straight line Left or Right in games like Bug, without involuntarily ducking. I run this same test on Nintendo systems. If in Super Mario Bros. I can not run left or right without constantly ducking, then I conclude that the controller was not ready for the market place; this controller falls into that category. Considering that Nintendo got the D-Pad down right the first time back in 1985, then ALL controllers should have properly functioning D-Pads in this day and age, no excuses!!!Also when using the D-Pad I kept bumping into the "Analog" stick with my thump. I have no idea why they didn't place the "Analog" above the D-Pad like on Sega's Official analog controller, but they didn't, and I could have been fine with it, it it were further away from the D-Pad like the left Analog stick is on a Playstation controller, but it is not and I hate it.Now as for the so called "Analog" stick; you probably won't notice this, but once you start playing something like Quake or Panzer Dragoon, it quickly becomes apparent that this is just an extension of the D-Pad and not true analog in the least bit as the turning and look speeds don't travel any faster as they would with the official Sega Saturn 3D Controller's analog, but rather move at the exact same speed of the D-Pad. That is because this is not true analog and they have merely synced the signal between the D-Pad and the "Analog" stick. For games that do not take advantage of the true Analog, you will probably not notice and might be happy with this controller, especially if you never use the D-Pad, but if you want true analog and a D-Pad that can compare with the one on Sega's official Saturn controllers, then you need to get your self an official Sega controller, give it a good cleaning, and hope it works, because presently this is the only Saturn controller alternative out there as far as I know.Retrobit had something with dual analog, but it vanished from there web site. I have heard rumors of Blue Tooth adapters coming out, but have not saw any yet, and as far as I know, 8-Bitdo isn't showing the Saturn any love yet either when it comes to controllers with a legit Analog stick.
