Software Architecture in Practice (SEI Series in Software Engineering) Hardcover – 4 Oct. 2012

Can't read the quotes at the beginning of each chapter because they are displayed vertically and without spaces over several pages. This really needs to be fixed quickly. Doesn't anybody check the Kindle versions before they are released? For the price they charge I expect better.I have put five stars only because I don't want to reflect negatively on the book itself which I only started to read and so far is pretty good. Amazon really needs to do give more options for feedback, one specially targeting the Kindle Versions.

Very good

Good content but Very very repetitive (could be 200 pages shorter). Each section is expressed in text form, followed by a diagram with exactly the same populating text followed by a table with the same text again. You end up reading the same content 3 times, which doesn't really provide any additional information.

The author should really come up with a fourth edition quarter of the size of the third edition. The book is repetitive to the point where it feels insulting. There are useful lessons here and there but I just cannot manage to read more than a few pages at a time without loosing the plot.Also, less anectodes and more practical points please. The book is called Software Architecture "In Practice". It's not called "Tales in Software Architecture".

Typical of architects, this book uses too many words to describe simple concepts. It's just way to verbose and goes into implementation details which are nothing to do with architecture. 600 pages of waffle that could be condensed into 100 pages of good stuff. I wont live long enough to read all the books like this one.

Oh dear. Some books are written from a computer science point of view and some from a software engineering point of view - this one? The title suggest the latter, but the content points more to the former. The aim appears to have been to use as many words as possible and the result of that is repetition the begins from the first page.Perhaps an earlier edition, which apparently won an award was better, or perhaps the award was worthless - I don't know (the listing does not state which award it won or when that was).A book which uses the word "practice" in its title should be practical - this book isn't. I was very disappointed and felt that the authors should look again at it and condense it - bring it to a smaller volume that does not repeat itself and is practical.
