This shampoo is amazing! It works quickly to soothe dry itchy scalp and to treat the dandruff without the horrible smell or damaging my color treated hair. I am very impressed how smooth it feels in my hair so unordinary like other dandruff shampoo’s that feel and smell like you applied flea shampoo on your head. This shampoo is the total opposite and what has really amazed me is that it has made my hair softer and shiner.I have long thick colored hair and I always use salon hair products— nothing over the counter. So I am very happy that this dandruff shampoo totally complimented my other hair products and it did not strip away my hair color while treating my dandruff and repairing my scalp.I have an autoimmune disorder so my skin is always under attack of being too dry. I made the horrible mistake of using a salon product that was supposed to rejuvenate my scalp but instead it was too strong that it dried out my scalp and caused me to have heavy dandruff. The dandruff was so bad that other dandruff shampoos I tried to use did not work.Thankfully, I decided to look on Amazon for women’s dandruff shampoo and came across good reviews for this product and I bought a small bottle to try it — what a game changer!I washed and rinsed my hair with my regular salon shampoo and then I applied the dandruff shampoo and let it set in my hair for a few minutes until I felt that tingle in my scalp that it was calming my itchy scalp down because my scalp felt like it was on fire! Then, I rinsed and applied my hair conditioner, set and then rinsed and I could instantly feel how clean my hair and scalp felt.My scalp was in bad shape because of the damage I caused by using the exfoliating hair treatment so it took me five usages of this dandruff shampoo to get my scalp back to normal AND to eliminate the white flakes!Such a relief to be rid of the white flakes because I wear a lot of dark colored clothes so I was embarrassed to have dandruff noticeable on my clothes and in my hair. I am so happy I tried this product because it helped me to get my hair back to normal! I highly recommend this amazing hair product. It is so silky and smooth yet tough enough to knock out hard core dandruff!

I’ve been using Biolage scalp sync for many years. It’s the only product that’s effective at keeping my scalp happy and dandruff free. This is a big bottle for a great price. A little goes a long way. It’s light; not greasy. The bottle doesn’t leak and the shampoo leaves my hair feeling shiny and not greasy or dry.

When i use to work at a Salon they had this on the shelf and it works wonders. The smell is a little funky but it's not the worst. It helps a lot with the dandruff and it really gets ride of the itching because of the Zinc it has. I highly recommend this product with anyone who suffers with Dandruff.I suggest you first lather it in your hands and then apply it to your scalp ( only the scalp trust me, that's what its for ) while its wet and the message it in an leave it in for for 3-5 minutes and then rinse. I do double shampoo to make sure it got everything and the i follow up with a conditioner for the tips of the hair. It leaves my hair feeling refreshed and itch free. I also recommend with the 1st wash combing your hair with the shampoo to help with the dandruff to get out. But honestly I don't do that since using this product has reduced the amount greatly.

To answer Patty's question: I honestly don't know how it works in hard water, but it's the only one of two Zinc Pyrithione shampoos that have ever worked for me (and I tried them all extensively over the years). Fyi, "Zinc Pyrithione is probably the most widely used active ingredient to treat dandruff caused by Seborrheic Dermatitis on the market today." Incidentally, just because a shampoo has this ingredient, doesn't mean it will work for you.Matrix Biolage product is a bit pricey, but it flat out works great. It's gentle and leaves you hair soft and manageable. Nice clean fragrance too. It seems to last for several days if you need to go that long between shampoos. It's a top-shelf product. I'd give it 5 of 5 stars.Walleyworld's "Equate Every Day" (1%) is the only other one that also works for me. It's similar in color yet a bit thicker than the Biolage and comes in a large handy pump bottle. It too is gentle and leaves you hair soft and manageable. I do notice that after two days, my hair is a tad on the oily side. But that's not problem if you like to shampoo every day or every other day anyway. Your mileage may vary. This is what I'm currently using. I'd give it 4 of 5 stars.I've spent a little more time on this Amazon "comment" than usual. No need to be afraid of discussing this topic in public either. I've found that this condition seems to run in people's families. Either of these two products are a godsend. No need to shampoo two times either (once is just fine). They effectively provide relief from the constant itching and the embarrassing flaking. For me, these two work where even prescription products were ineffective. Hope that helps :)
