While this pen is a very good fountain pen it does have a broader nib than I would prefer. However as a fountain pen it is a very good pen for the price. The leather pen case as well is very nice and it fits two which would be this pen and my parker pen. Can't think of the exact name of the parker. But all in all I really do like this pen. I do hope that this review does help you in your decision on what could very well be your first fountain pen.... Because this is the pen I would suggest for you.

I would have given this pen five stars were it not for the crappy converter it comes with. It's useless and wil only fill a small amount of ink. Also the case does not appear to be leather as the retailer claims. The pen however is very well constructed and has a nice weight. I use my pens for drawing and the bent nib has given me satisfying results. It allows me to vary my design of line which is really cool. I tested it with LAMY's black ink which has yielded good results with all my other pens. I hope to replace the converter with something more suitable .Can anyone make a suggestion? I also hope to try other inks .

I really like this pen a lot. Filling the ink cartridge was super easy (especially since I've never don't it before) and the pen itself is very nice.It has good weight and doesn't feel cheap or anything. I prefer the pointy nib thingy (I'm not pen technical term savvy!) to the curved one, though both write well and if I had a reason to use the second one, I would. I'm glad I have the option. I will note that if you haven't used a fountain pen before, there is a "learning curve" a bit, in the way that you might write. It can be a bit frustrating to have to re-write things because you tried to use this type of pen as a ball-point. It just doesn't work well like that (at least, it doesn't for me o: I don't think it's supposed to!)The pouch the pen came with is really handy, too, since I can chuck it in my purse and not have to worry about the cap popping off or something. I don't think the cap will, it's on there pretty damned sturdy, but I worry and the pouch took that concern away. It feels nice and it doesn't feel like something that someone grabbed out of a dollar bin or something.Overall, I'm incredibly happy with my purchase. It got to me fast and I was very happy with the product. I'll likely be buying another from this seller for my husband at some point, too!

This pen is a nice weight, some say it's too heavy, but I find it nice to write with.. The flow is fabulous!! I had purchased a Rosetta Napoleon Pocket Fountain Pen, Tortoiseshell with Medium Nib and that one I had to work with a minute or two to get it to start flowing EVERY time I wanted to use it... This pen, WOW! Starts flowing immediately! Put the pen down, 2 days later I go to write , and it starts up right away! No messing with it.. And the flow is fabulous!! I didn't care for the fancy tip, But the other tip it comes with is very nice.. I would say it's around a medium nib, would definitely buy this pen again... It feels and writes like a 200.00 pen but without the cost! Looks very nice too! The detail in it is superb! From the looks to the weight to the writing... This IS the best pen I've found yet! And the case it comes with is very well made as well... It's nice to be able to carry both pens without worry of damaging them. One thing I was concerned about was the top. This is NOT a screw on top. It snaps on. But it's a strong snap, so my worries diminished. Again, very nice pen, would make a great present for someone who likes to write (or has too)... They would think you spent a lot of money on it! :)

I received this pen two days ago and the converter was cracked. Also for all to know: this is not a calligraphy pen. I tried both nibs and one of them is simply a fine or medium point fountain nib that skips, the other nib is a rounded bent nib they are calling a calligraphy nib, this in no way can give you a thin line needed for calligraphy. Amazon straightened everything out as far as my needs. Do not waste your money on this pen, look at the nibs closely in the picture and you will see what I mean.

It's amazing, and writes extremely smoothly. It's wonderful, and it keeps itself quite clean, however - THIS DOES NOT COME WITH INK. Make sure to buy ink cartridges [it fits standard perfectly] that actually come in at the same time as or before the pen. Also, don't use waterproof ink with it, it'll clog.What it comes with ;- Calligraphy Nib [Writes beautifully]- ... whatever the other nib is [I constantly use it, works great for taking notes]-The actual pen itself-A refillable ink well thing.If you don't have the ink come in on time, I actually mixed some black acrylic with water. It will write only a grey colour because it's not as dense as normal ink, but if your ink doesn't come in on time, the acrylic doesn't clog the pen. It's also good for those pen and ink drawings, if that's all you were going to use it for.

This is my second Duke pen. I really liked the Bamboo one I purchased about 2 months ago. This one arrived in just a few days, 2 to be exact. It arrived packed very well. I wanted a pen with the bent nib to add a bit of flair to my writing. Man this pen delivers that in spades. Wow! It does put down the ink giving me bold lines, you do need to experiment with your hand hold and angle,of the nib to paper just hang in there you will get it. I have always like fountain pens, they indeed are a mark of someone who in not part of the everyday!

I like that it has two tips and a leather case. I use the curved tip for pen and ink drawings which are pretty cool. When I tried switching tips, I had a hard time coaxing the ink. I haven't really used the other tip to say how poorly or how well the unused tip works.

Excellent pen. Writes great and feels great. Would have gotten full stars but I paid the high price and didn't check the sellers list. My fault not theirs.SA June 12/21.... Almost a full 4 yrs later. Used the pen quite a bit. I have expensive fountain pens but I admit.. I love this one more. I own 2 of them and ordered another version. Extremely satisfied with it... And yeah I changed to full star rating cause it's awesome

Inexpensive but does a yeoman's job! Nice and heavy in the hand. When you don't want to shell out a lot of money for an everyday pen then this is for you. If you are a collector then skip this. Came as pictured with zero chips or slop. Runs through ink quickly but steadily.
