Hayward SPX5500H Strainer Cover O-ring Replacement for Select Hayward Pump and Filter

Worked just fine to replace an aging one on my pool pump. Don't forget to lube it up when you put it in place.

Price was much better than the local pool store. It's an original Hayward factory replacement part and fits fine. I didn't realize that the air bubble that wouldn't go away in the pump strainer was there because the o-ring needed replacing, nor did I realize that the o-ring should be replaced as part of routine maintenance of the pump. I found this out when I had the pool opened this year and the pump leaked significantly from the strainer lid. I replaced the o-ring and not only did it fix the leak, the large air bubble I'd been living with for two years disappeared. With a little research, I learned that the o-ring really should be replaced at the start of each season. (The previous pump was different and I'd never had to replace the o-ring - I just kept it well-lubed.) The price here at Amazon makes annual replacement an easy thing to do.

Exact replacement for my filter and cheaper than buying local. Use water based lube when installing to prevent it from snagging or getting cut.

The replacement part is exactly the same as the original part on my pool pump and it works perfectly.

Works as expected, and arrived quickly. Just added a bit of Vaseline and installed it in place of the one that came with the pump. The fit was perfect!

My pool filter leaked terribly from the cover until I replaced the old O -ring. No more leaking. I would recommend this product
