The Qing Empire and the Opium War (The Cambridge China Library)

Having read several other Opium War books that just didn't satisfy my desire for in depth descriptions of all the battles I was very happy to find this book which absolutely provides that, mostly from the Chinese perspective. This is a very detailed history that describes the Qing Army which fought the British in 1839-1842 and all the battles on both land and sea the two forces engaged in. If you are very interested in the Opium War or Chinese history this book is a must read.
