Much better fit and finish than one could reasonably expect for the price.The only defect was one of the strap lugs needed a little tightening.Better quality than I expected.Better sound than I expected.It's fun to play.It's not perfect - I'll be replacing the tuning machines with better quality ones.Other changes, related to taste rather than quality:I'll be replacing the strap lugs with Dunlop Straploks for convenience.I'll be replacing the strings with a heavier gauge.

Just got this, plugged it into my Peavey Delta Blues 115, made some adjustments (turned volume down!), and was pleasantly BLOWN AWAY!!! I've had my share of inexpensive guitars as well as some big name expensive ones over the years and I must say I am extremely impressed! I don't know what the output spec's are yet on these humbucker pups, but I'm guessing old school low to mid range.Very articulate when turned down via the volume on guitar, and when cranked up, drives my Delta amp into distortion nirvana! Oh!... did I mention these pups are LOUD?!!? This guitar is the real deal and only missing the body which cuts the length and width down to a perfect travel size. Outside that you wouldn't know the difference between this and a full sized version in a blind test. I surmise you can play anything from rock to blues or even country pop with these pups. Clean to distorted and in between.Volume and tone knobs are knurled metal, not plastic, and turn very smooth. Didn't hear one pop, crackle, or scratch coming from the pots, just as smooth as and quite as can be. Lots of range from both and no dead spots. The 3 position switch works smoothly and isn't loud or hard like some I've had the displeasure of playing with. Switch spring is hard enough you know you switched it, but not so hard that it clicks or resonates through the body.A VERY nice playing guitar and Hofner got it right IMO. You can actually use this as your regular everyday guitar even playing with a band if you wanted! It leaves nothing behind except a little wood off the body.
