Purchased these to replace decorative valves that were clicking and creaking all the time with the hot water. These are fantastic, modern yet traditional looking and great strong quality. Not a peep or crack or bang since installing them!! Wish I had done it sooner!!

Changed from plastic to chrome looking good.

I liked the nice quality finish of the chrome version which is highly polished & easy to keep clean. Unfortunately the smooth surface of the adjustment cap makes it very difficult to grip without a good pair of Marigolds or similar gloves. This style of TRV is best suited to older heating systems with a header tank and the 1/2 inch thread fitting is ideal for traditional radiator installations which may have very closely coupled pipework. Since having our new condensing boiler fitted the system now runs sealed with an internal pressure of 1.5bar, as do most recent central heating installations. We have found that these Cascade TRV's become difficult to turn against this extra pressure behind the valves and a textured or knurled finish actuator would have been better than the smooth gloss. By contrast the lockshield is easy to adjust making the job of balancing very straightforward and the included decorators cap will be extremely useful.The actual valve and spring assembly seems good quality with a smooth action while the TRV head and locking nut are both chromed plastic.

We moved into a house with big chunky thermostatic valves on every radiator. We have been replacing them slowly with these slim discrete valves. They are much more pleasing to the eye and do the same job just as well.

Installed a new radiator so replaced with new valve to finish the job
