Now with Added Titanium Oxide Red Coating, goes from a clear mirror to dark red mirror in sunlight. From the shop floor to the construction site, these lenses adapt to changing lighting conditions. During the day, while the sun is shining bright, the photochromatic lenses darken to block harmful ultraviolet rays. Then, as light begins to dim, the lenses lighten as they adjust to the fading light. This gives you complete eyewear protection 24 hours a day. Note these require UV light to darken, and will not work behind any type of material that blocks UV light, Helmet Shields, Car Windshields etc. Note: the change is gradual so your pupils are adjusting for the shade change as it happens, for some people this will give the feeling that they are not darkening. To see how dark they actually get, put the glasses in a dark area to have them lighten up. Put your thumb over one lens and then go out into direct sunlight, after about 30 seconds remove your thumb and the change will be quite apparent. These lenses are also high contrast yellow, so things will also seem brighter than normal.

Great pair of glass for riding on your motorcycle!!
Very nice sunglasses. I have been looking and looking for good pair of photochromic glasses for riding bike (motorcycle) so I don't have to keep two pairs in the saddlebags, one for daylight and one pair for night riding. These change withing seconds from tinted to clear (yellow) for when the sun goes down. The yellow tint really brightens up the view so you can see everything nice and crisp. The colors like green, red, well all of the colors of a rainbow really pop!! They fit really snug around the ears and head so they don't fall off. Very comfortable to wear and they don't hurt or leave a mark on the bridge of your nose!! I coated the front of the glasses with a repellent(NOT RAIN-X, rain-x sucks) so when and if I get caught in a rain storm, the water will bead up and run off. These glasses have the feel of a 100 dollar pair for 40 bucks!! Well worth the money. So if you are looking for a good pair of glasses that change from day to night, these are it!! GET THEM, you WON'T be disappointed!!

Waited To Review - They're Great Glasses.
I wanted to hold off writing my review until I had the chance to use these for a while and see how they held up.This is quite a bit of money for a pair of safety glasses, especially since I work in the oil field in an environment where glasses get damaged fairly easily.I am in and out of dark areas and needed glasses I don't have to change constantly. I wear them daily and end up with dirt and chemicals on the lenses fairly regularly - my glasses get used in some unpleasant environments. As advertised, you aren't going to be able to use them for driving. They do not get dark inside a vehicle due to UV glass but there's nothing that can be done about that.I see comments about them not getting dark enough. I work in the high country of Colorado, often above 10,000 feet. The sun doesn't get much brighter than that and personally I haven't had a problem with the darkness issue. These have held up very well and I could not be happier with them. After more than 6 months no real scratches or surface damage and they work great.I'm comfortable recommending them.

Not dark enough
The yellow is nice and it brightens up a dimly lit room but when transitioning to the outside they are not very dark and sometimes in the texas sun you need dark lenses quality seems good and I like the ear holders keeps the glasses on your head when bending over

Useful for twilight driving
The glasses are very neat, light and well built. Although they do not darken too much in the sun, they protect from excessive sun brightness (in particular from direct sunlight) and are very comfortable after sunset. I am using everyday when riding my motorcycle, basically because I do not need to stop and remove my sunglasses when the sun sets. I do not use the security ear pieces because they make the glasses difficult to wear once you put a helmet in your head. The hard case is a very nice addition to protect the glasses when not in use. I would definitely recommend this product. In fact since I bought these glasses a lot of people asked me about them.

Awesome glasses for bike riding in all conditions (dark, light, in the forest)
Very good glasses for bike riding.Transition lenses are awesome for coming in and out of the canopy, as well as when the sun comes up, my rides usually start in the dark and finish just after dawn. Was worried at first that they would not be dark enough for sunlight, but that is not an issue. The yellow color is perfect for night time, and actually quite handy for car headlights and other biker's lights coming at me and makes seeing in the dark easier.Comfortable fit and they stay in place. The only issue that I have, is that now the weather is colder (45deg) they do fog up when I stop to cross a street, but quickly unfog once I start moving again.Would recommend to anyone.

Very disappointed not worth the money
I got these glasses in hopes they wouldn't auto darkening they don't Auto darken and if they do they don't darken very much they look like they're good high quality safety glasses but definitely not worth the price I'm very disappointed in my purchase but it is what it is is you thinking about trying auto darkening safety glasses just keep doing the two glasses inside outside and just $49 I can buy a lot of dark glasses on a lot of clear glasses I do a lot of welding and cutting with a torch and I was hoping they would darken up a lot more than they do so in perspective I would not buy these glasses ever again

Great glasses
If your job involves a lot of going from indoors to bright outdoors and back again, these are the glasses to have. They work great (so far, anyhow), and some of the more anal "safety professionals" don't give me a hard time about not wearing my clear glasses outdoors, or tinted glasses indoors. One proviso; like most safety glasses, they get scratched easily, so I'm careful about taking them off. And, BTW, the little doohickey that clips onto the temple bars behind your ears, it's for crap, IMHO. Very uncomfortable. I got rid of it after two wearings. Other than that, great glasses. And the reviewers were right, they do not work inside a car. Oh well, guess they're not totally perfect.

Nice but not at all photochromic!
I've had them for just over a month. I bought them for cycling and can verify that these safety glasses are NOT photochromic at all! The do not get darker even in direct sunlight.
