Excellent pencils
I recently made the switch back to using pencils because I prefer using a renewable resource that is biodegradable over "disposable" pens that are made of non-renewable resources and typically aren't recyclable. With that in mind, I didn't want my purchase to support forest clearcutting, and didn't want the addition of paints or anything extra that would involve the use of other non-renewable resources or add chemicals to the manufacturing process. These pencils fit the bill - not only are they from managed forests, but they are unfinished. They look great on my desk in a jar of coffee beans (my pencil holder - keeps the points sharp), and they write smoothly with a nice line. They smell great too - the cedar smell is really nice every time you sharpen it - it's great that this refreshing natural smell isn't covered up by questionable chemicals in paints and such. My only suggestion would be to offer the pencils without the eraser for people like me who can go through a full pencil without ever touching the eraser to paper. I can keep a standalone eraser in the drawer for the odd time when crossing out won't do. Nonetheless, these pencils are a clear 'most-good' choice available currently.I'm very happy with the pencils and will continue to purchase these when this supply runs out. If you're not yet a regular pencil-user, I'd also recommend a good sharpener like the old hand-crank ones (rather than an electric - way too many resources for such a simple task, and definitely rather than the ridiculous razor-blade sharpeners that do a terrible job and may be part of the reason people abandoned pencils in the first place). Having a good sharpener will make all the difference in your pencil-using experience. So, vote with your dollars for companies doing responsible things - these pencils are worth every penny.

These were for my husband. He loves them.
Did not dislike anything. They feel good in the hand and the lead writes smoothly.

Simple, elegant pencils.
No cracked leads so far. Erasers are fresh and supple. The wood smells good. I keep a few at my desk. They're fun to write and draw with. I like the visible wood grain.

Happy
I'm happy with the order. The pencils have a sort of smooth matte finish which feels great and works well with grease.I was thrilled to find out they were Palominos (since they're not entirely advertised as such).I bought these to get into my new hobby of hand-sharpening pencil and they're my favorite so far for this.I'm happy with them.

Excellent Writing Instrument!
After trying several No. 2 pencils with my daughter I came across these on Amazon. We are so pleased with these, and so are her teachers! Not too light, easy to sharpen, strong (lead does not break easily), erases clean without much effort, and provides a crisp , clean line. I highly recommend these pencils to anyone looking for a quality pencil at a great price.
