If you want to track your swimming this watch is the watch to have
Bought this watch to help me deal with covid isolation. My local outdoor lap pool is open for lap swimming and I wanted to make myself more accountable and track my swims to see if I was getting better. I did some research online and every review said this watch would be the best for swimmer focused athletes. The watch is comfortable, the Garmin app is great and easy to use. The watch is smart and tracks my lengths accurately. I have a 100ft pool and the watch is smart enough to convert times / pacing from meters into yards. The watch also allows basic tracking for running, biking, general cardio and sleeping. These features aren't incredibly powerful (i.e a fitbit will track those better) but they are still accurate enough for me to use to track my general activities over time. The swimming features are definitely the best I've seen. You can create your own workouts on the app and use your watch to track times and pace etc. As mentioned before the stroke and distance counts have been accurate for me and it's definitely helped me keep track of how I'm progressing with my swimming. The watch face is easy to use and intuitive and is clear under water so you can check things while swimming. If you want something to help with track your swimming, I'd recommend this watch. I haven't had the ability to check the GPS accuracy on open swims yet, but the GPS is accurate for my runs, so I think it should be good there too.Battery lasts about a week with me using an activity tracker nearly every day.

Excellent swim watch
I love this watch. I had an Apple Watch that I was using for swimming for quite some time. It was fairly accurate and it did miss sometimes. But it frustrated me because of the touchscreen. I love this watch because all of the buttons that can be operated in the water. With a touchscreen, it’s impossible. I love the lap button for sets. The auto lap button is accurate also, if you know what you’re doing. When you come to the wall, If you push off and glide before you start swimming, it helps immensely with the accuracy! I’ve been swimming competitively for many years, After some practice, this watch is highly accurate and very fun! It’s also incredibly easy to read in the water! Very good purchase for me!

Clear watch face easy to use
Love the swim 2 I used a Fitbit versa 2 prior to this but it did not map open water swims. The Swim 2 does a great job in open water at lakes and in the ocean. I’ve not used it in a river but have no doubt it would work very well. Not only does it map and record your swim, intervals , pace and stroke count you can also use it for other sports like running, hiking and biking etc.I like the watch face it’s easy to read and use.

Great for Swimmers (whose secondary exercise is running)
I like this watch very much. It keeps accurate track of my laps, heart rate, times, etc. It took some time to figure out the Drill Log. The running activity tracker is great for outdoors with the GPS and you can turn the GPS off and run on a treadmill with equal accuracy. I had wanted a touch screen watch, but I am now used to the buttons. The number of steps I take is measured much more accurately than my iPhone Health app. I have linked it to pretty much everything on my phone so that is helpful too. it charges quickly and holds a charge for about 4 days. Others might have a different experience, but I am enjoying it a lot. It is my first sports watch.

So far, a big improvement over the Polar Ignite 2
I picked this device because it could measure swimming, which I do regularly during summer. But it also does quite a good job measuring steps and measuring other workouts. My former device the Polar Ignite 2 was extremely buggy and trouble prone and it was murder syncing workouts and worse updating. It was quite pretty, but the touchscreen was pretty buggy as well and it would occasionally lock up and require a reset. On the other hand, this device has been trouble free except for the fact that after syncing, I still had to step through the watch setup (even though all the data was already there). And the manual is a bit terse and tiny (even the online one) and I had some trouble trying to figure out what it was trying to tell me. But after a couple of weeks, it's done everything I wanted to do with trouble free syncs to my phone and online. Garmin connect even sync'd to my Medicare account online. Nice device.

Big help
I swim in an odd length pool- and watch counts Laps distance and heart rate so well. I like that there is no need to bring my phone into the pool area but I can leave it out in the car. There was a lot of added workout information and heart rate and stroke count that I didn’t think I would years but I really enjoyed digging into! excellent swimming watch! One of the guys I swim with has bought one now as well!

Bad software user experience
Probably does a lot of great stuff, but the software is so clunky and old school that it makes every single interaction annoying.

Great for open water swimmer!
I love the mapping feature and the face is large and easy to read - I use it in the pool and the lakes - comfortable and stylish - very happy with this purchase and recommend
