Jan Marini Skin ResearchBioglycolic® Oily Skin Cleansing Gel - 8 Fl Oz

Nothing else will do
This cleanser is the best on the market. The bottle lasts many months. One small squirt is all you need, once or twice a day. I massage this into my skin without water then rinse. It suds up when rinsing and leaves my skin feeling fresh and clean.I had to go to my skin Dr., 45 minutes away, and pay almost double what I paid on Amazon- for this face wash. My Dr. discontinued it with her own mix. Hers doesn't compare to this product! The Drs. "mix" left my skin feeling dirty and dried my face out horribly, which clogged my pores which led to pimples. Pimples at 50!! I was thrilled to see JM products available through Amazon so I immediately ordered 2. These bottles will last me well over a year. My daughter uses this product and also ordered 2. It smells like stinky feet...(just so you know). The only thing I would recommend is that you use a good moisturizer after washing. I use Jan Marini moisturizer with sunscreen. My skin loves it and has recovered nicely from the Drs. "mix".

Best face wash I've ever used!
Love this face wash. It has completely changed my skin for the better. I used to have combination skin, oily forehead and dry cheek/chin area. Now I have soft skin all over and a slight glow. I put it on dry skin and rinse without a washcloth. Don't leave it on longer than it takes to rub in for a few seconds on each part of your face as it can be drying if left on too long. I use it 4-5 times a week, usually at night. Always use a moisturizer after washing too. It does smell bad, but it's completely worth the results!

Smells like feet. Can't return the product.
I rarely write bad reviews, so the fact that I'm even writing one gives you an idea of how terrible this product is. I have been using Jan Marini Bioglycolic cleanser for many years and I love it. They ran out of my normal one, so I tried this one instead. When I opened the bottle, the seal was partially removed. The minute I put some cleanser in my hands, I could tell the smell was a little off. I applied it to my face and immediately gagged. It smelled like someone put some soap in a bottle, walked around Disneyland for two days, took their nasty Disney-walking socks off, grated some stinky old cheese, mixed it all up in a blender, then poured it into this bottle. The smell was horrendous. After that, I washed my face with a different cleanser and, I am not exaggerating, my hands & face STILL smelled like feet after that. If you can get over the smell, it might be a good product, but I'm worried to even give it another chance because who knows what else they are putting in that bottle.I tried to return it, but didn't realize when I bought it that it can't be returned. That's my fault for not checking and for trying to buy such an expensive product on Amazon, without a good return policy. Hopefully this review will help others. I always hesitate to post bad reviews for fear of the "You're being a Karen" backlash, especially since my name is actually Karen, but I'm willing to take the chance this time.

One of the easier-to-use Glycolic Acid home products
I've had skin issues for most of my life and within the past few years, I stumbled upon Glycolic Acid as a recommendation from a spa. Glycolic Acid is typically one of the "wash" ingredients in a facial or chemical peel. Spas will use a much higher concentration, but for home use, I've found the Jan Marini to be one of the easiest products to use. Directions say to put it on dry skin, but I found that it will heavily dry out your skin that way so I use it in the shower. Simply put the product on and let it sit for a few minutes before rinsing off. Pat dry if you can afterwards and unless you have quite oily skin, you will probably need a moisturizer if you use the product more than a couple times a week.I have tried both the "oily skin" and regular Bioglycolic gels. I much prefer the Oily Skin one to the regular for a couple of reasons:1) The Oily Skin product has a distinct smell. There isn't a fragrance in the product, but there's a slight smell so it's much easier to tell if you are getting the real thing as some online retailers will dilute the product or sell very old product that is not as effective.2) The Oily Skin product is more like a liquid, whereas the regular version is more like a lotion. I found it much easier to cover larger areas with the Oily Skin version as it foams more readily.I mainly use the Bioglycolic product for acne and if you're an acne sufferer, you know what it's like to have problems most of your life. I use the Bioglycolic in combination with a mild Salicylic acid (2% or less). I will switch which product I use daily and use both when my skin in really bad. Mix and match to see what works for you, but this combination seems to work the best for me and the best part is these won't dye clothing like Benzoyl Peroxide will!If you want to see if this product will work for you, stop by a spa and see if they have glycolic acid samples. Many spas will give out small samples to entice you to buy from them. I'd highly recommend NOT buying from a spa unless you can get some heavy discounts or you are supporting your local economy as many will charge upwards of three times the price you can get it for online.Good luck in your hunt for better looking skin!

Best product ever!
I have never had clear skin since my teenage years, but products from Jan Marini really works. It helps to keep acne under control. I have been to different dermatologist before and the medicated lotions they prescribed (most of them were expensive!) didn't help. Proactive did nothing good to my face either. I used it just as recommended...nothing!! Now I use gel from Jan Marini to wash my face, acne treatment lotion and the cream 2 a day. All 3 used together works like magic. Some days If my face looks good and clear I use only one of the 3 products, mostly gel to wash my face. I also love that it doesn't dry my face. The cream stings a little, but I don't mind as I know its working! I love it, will be buying again and again.
