Womens Oktoberfest Fraulein Costume

It wasn't easy to find a not-expensive dirndl set that wasn't the cheap-looking, "ultra-sexy" version. I feel like it's sexy in its own right, without having to have your butt cheeks hanging out the back or cut down to your naval. I love how the dress and under-top are all one piece, unlike another I bought at the same time to make sure I would hopefully have one that fit well for this weekend. On that one, the under-top felt super annoying, at least to me!There were some stray threads that I trimmed, but overall, this looks much nicer and seems better quality than most "costume" ones I have seen, in the $40 range. The red apron really sets it off and is a nice velvety material. The dress itself is pretty lightweight and I think it will be comfortable in closed spaces where it can get warm.The size was perfect for me - the only thing I will say is I may play with the back some to maybe pin it up a BIT... someone mentioned it might be intended for bustier chicks, which I am not, so maybe that's why I've got a little looseness in the back where it zips up? Strange not in the front, but must just be the way it's cut somehow.Also, I happened to have a black petticoat that is nicer than this one, so I am using that one, but yeah, the petticoat that comes with it is a pretty sad little cheap one, of course. I think it DOES add a little something to the outfit, though.I can't wait to wear this to the get-together it's intended for, and I predict I'll be using it again in the future! Thanks for making a nice looking, not cheap or chintzy looking dirndl set! :)

I bought this costume for an Oktoberfest party. Unfortunately it arrived too late and I had to return it. I tried it on before I sent it back so that I could give an honest product review. I am 5'7" and 120 lbs--I purchased the small. It fit perfectly. I was also impressed with the quality of the fabric and workmanship at this price point. The white insert for the chest is a bit sheer but not bothersome. I liked that the apron is a separate piece and that it came with a petticoat to poof out the skirt. I hit right at my knees and did not look frumpy. It was tasteful and flattering without being overtly sexy.

OMG, a costume that actually fits! I got the small and it fits perfectly! Make sure you actually get your actual size and not what you think or want to be. Good materials. The dress is a bit long for me (I'm 5'2'' and about 120 lbs) but the perfect fit of it is great. One thing I don't like is the chest area- it's meant for women with huge breasts, my A cups did not fit well in it and it was a bit loose at the breast area. Other than that, it's a great costume!

Based upon another reviewer I purchased this. ITs amazing! Very good quality (especially for the price). The fabric is comfortable and soft and its three pieces, thus, its not like a 'costume', more like the real thing! I bought the Small (I'm a size 4) and I put on a few pounds (so really a 6 now) so wasn't sure if it would fit. It does! It's snug but comfortable, so if I can drop 4-5 before I wear it, it'll be better but it still looks great!!

This is absolutely perfect. I had to return a previous costume to the big box red bulls-eye store because it was multiple sized too small. I'm a size 12 (not very tall so it's a little long), ordered a large, and this dress is great. A little loose in the chest (b-cup over here) but will work perfectly. I am quite happy with the quality and thrilled to be cute, without being trashy.

We take our Oktoberfests very seriously in my family, and always wear our dirndls to the summer and fall festivals. Having already purchased dresses in the $100 - $175 price range, I ordered this one fully realizing this was going to be a costume. I just wanted it as a spare for various friends that join in from time to time. While it's quite pretty in the photo, a few warnings to share: read the description carefully to make sure this is the right choice for you:1) The item does not have a separate blouse2) It's completely polyester3) The apron is velvet, an odd choice of fabric4) There is a separate slip with elasticized waist that is made from two layers of extremely stiff, angular netting. It looked terrible under the dress. Maybe cutting one off would have helped, but it looked fine without it.The dealbreaker for me was that while the description on the website said it was hand washable, the tag sewn in it said not washable, to spot clean only. Since this was purchased for various people to wear warm weather and subject to perspiration and beer spillage, being able to wash it was a must. Since it's polyester, I don't know why hand washing in cold water and carefully air drying wouldn't have worked, but I didn't want to pay $40 for something that was going to fall apart the first time it was washed after being worn for a couple of hours.

I wore this for an Octoberfest party, and I loved the colors and the fit. The tulle piece that goes underneath makes it stick out just as it should and it hit me right at the knee. I am 5'9 and 147 lbs. I ordered the small and it fit perfectly. I liked this so much that I kind of wish I was German and could wear it every day. Haha.

The dress itself was beautiful however the fit was not. Like other reviewers mentioned the top was a lot smaller than the bottom. I wear L-XL. I ordered the XL. The top of the dress fit more like a medium and the bottom like a XL. I’m sending it back. Also buyer beware… while it says free returns it is not. When I went to submit my request for a return the instructions notified me that ALL returns would be charged a 20% restocking fee, 50% if the item wasn’t returned as it was received. And if I printed the return label I would be charged the return shipping fee. Both of these fees would be deducted from my refund amount.
