I used it for something kinda different...
I have a TJ with an inboarded full-size spare tire--a 40 at that. I don't have any storage room. I bought this not to hold a fire extinguisher, but to take inspiration from the roll bar fire extinguisher mount I already have.This bad boy is holding a 30' kinetic rope off the overhead roll bar (Genright cage), just behind the passenger seat. It fits PERFECTLY! And, unlike my prior mount that had an elastic bit, this one is solid--it doesn't sway or dangle at all. The location keeps the rope out of the sun, preventing UV damage. Definitely a win for an alternative use!

Nice quality
This item is very well made. I took away 1 star because the straps are a little short to wrap around my Rubicon roll bar and pad. So far it is holding.

The straps are too short
The only reason I gave it 3 instead of 5 start is that the straps are too short. The bottom strap was short enough that I bought some extra webbing material and had my wife modify that strap to make it longer. I have a normal size 2.5 lb fire extinguisher and it just isn't long enough to accommodate it. Another reviewer complained that the straps that go around the roll bar are not long enough. Yes and no. If you tighten the straps around the fire extinguisher really snug and then strap it to the roll bar, then it barely fits. If you install it on the roll bar first really tight, then the fire extinguisher straps barely fit. You need to fiddle with it and adjust the straps so that both the extinguisher and roll bar straps have enough grab with the velcro. After all that negativity I have to say that I am happy with it. The velcro quality is great and the fire extinguisher is rock solid in the holder. A few cents worth of extra nylon webbing would make this a 5 star item.
