Big on power, small on size
I admit I was initially surprised by the paper cutters size when it arrived and I wondered if it would hold enough paper cuts between emptying the basket. No worries. This is a powerful little shredder that can find a place at a desk or in a closet. It is relatively quiet. Easily cuts through paper, even the heavier variety. You just cut down a bit on the number of sheets you are cutting up. It has a good perigee, is a Fellowes shredder with headquarters in USA, but made in China (aren’t they all, but should they be?). Between the price and its power you will not stray too far wrong in purchasing this shredder. I recommend it.

Solid shredder!
I recently sold my house and had boxes of old financial documents in the attic. This shredder worked overtime and did not disappoint. The cross-shredding left every paper unrecognizable and the fact that you can shred credit cards in the same manner is a bonus! It did get jammed a few times initially but I quickly realized I was feeding paper continuously for too long, not allowing the shredder teeth to run a few sections in between batches. Once I realized my mistake I found that the shredder clears itself out almost every time. Excellent product for the money!

Other than the container being flimsy and small, a good powerful unit
I replaced a much larger 25 year old Fellowes unit when a power spike blew out the power supply. The specs on the new unit were impressive though I was a little surprised at how small the unit is (my fault, I should have read the dimensions), and how flimsy the thin container is. That all said, for a home unit the small size makes it convenient for discrete placement. It struggled a little to cut 8 pages of 20 pound. Six pages at a time all day.

Good for home office use...as long as you give the shredder time to cool down
Good value for the price. You feed a few small piles of paper at a time into the shredder, let the shredder cool down for a few minutes, then continue shredding. Even though there is a safety feature to prevent overheating of the motor, you should proceed with caution regardless. With a light-use shredder such as this one, it is very easy to burn out the motor. Also, just as with the industrial shredders, it's important to lubricate the blades. It is very simple to do, and you don't need to buy shredder oil. Buy either inexpensive cooking oil or mineral oil. Then, when you have fed many piles of paper thru the shredder, coat a full size sheet of paper with a few drops of the oil and spread on the paper to saturate it. Take another sheet of paper and squeeze gently against the saturated sheet. Run the sheets thru the shredder...and done! The shredder blades are lubricated.

Tops for ease and convenience
I like that I can feed multiple documents, (full sheets, half sheets, receipt strips), with one hand. It never refuses to start shredding. The motor groans as expected when feeding many sheets at once, but it lives up to it's claims of 9 sheet capacity. It replaced a Royal brand shredder that would only start if using two hands to feed sheets horizontally and perfectly centered through it's "safety" inlet, (too frustrating). This Fellows shredder has an inlet facing straight up, possibly susceptible to shredding a neck tie if you leaned over it, but not something I will ever need to worry about. Recently shredded a 4 inch thick compressed collection of papers left over after old shredder failed. Sorted through collection, fed as much as would fit in slot over 10 minute period. No thermal reset, no over heating (no smoke, no smell), no odd noises. It just worked without complaint. Home use. I'll replace with same unit if ever needed.

Shredded Paper Not Visible.
One problem: Replace smoke colored window with clear plastic. Shredded paper is not visible.

A great little cross-cut shredder!
This is a great little cross-cut shredder for personal or home office use. It is light weight, quiet, and easy to operate. I have shredded quite a lot of paper over several minutes and have not had it stop to cool down. It takes 8 or 9 sheets of paper at once, and also shreds credit cards with no problem. The bin is a little smaller than some, but is adequate if you don't do a great deal of shredding. The head lifts off easily for emptying. Fellowes is a good reliable brand and I would highly recommend this cross-cut shredder.

Slow but works
Works well, but the feeder does not catch immediately. Also the shredding process is slower than my last shredder.
