prime cuts
I love RATT, with the fantastic Warren De Martini on guitar, but I don't have all their albums. This compilation definitely bridged a gap. My advice is to buy this one plus "Invasion of your privacy" (of which only 2 tracks are included here), and of course the latest fantastic "Infestation". Ratt is an amazing band, very powerful, that should have more attention. BUY!!

Yes there is extra cheese at it's best..
Yes there is extra cheese at it's best...This is what you already know when you buy a RATT cd.They are a good band but a ton of the songs feel as if they are lyrically in the style or written at a kindergarten level.

Great Compilation
Spanning the years 1981 to 1991, this record represents Ratt's most successful period. It's a classic glam metal sound with the final non-album track "Nobody Rides For Free" taken from the excellent movie "Point Break".

big hair metal - a guilty pleasure right here
am so glad to discover today that one of my favourite + best hair metal bands of the 80's have just released a new cd to mucho acclaim with "Infestation". good for you guys ! and so - having just had a quick scan on amazon i notice to my horror that this compilation that i've had for quite some years wasn't reviewd. time for a review + history lesson then people..well well about a million years ago (ok circa mid-eighties) for an adolescent like myself there didnt appear to be many avenues for heavy attitude music out there (there was of course i.e. hip-hop, punk/hardcore + dark techno for eg) but i wasnt lookg in the right places) and i adored Ratt (seeing them live twice), and this compilation although not perfect is a pretty damn good overviiew of some of their finest moments : yes- "round + round", "lay it down" , "i want a woman" ,"your in love" etc. also - shame personal fave the rollickingly heavy: "top secret" from the underrated "detonator" lp isnt included but hey..Ratt were from LA of course but actually combined great big riffs (pre-metallica, slayer era of course) , with a faux sneer + catchy choruses to air punch too (in a non ironic way back then ) that i actually still love ! (no sniggering at the back there) also - investigate slightly later bands - van halen, skid row, love/hate, saigon kick + bullet boys for more quality feelgood rock from that era.guranteed to put a smile on your face, adopt an LA accent , grow big hair + play air guitar. marvellous !
