I use a lot of chives!
I've purchased different spices, and herbs, in bulk before, but the size always seems to surprise me for some reason. This bag of one pound is huge! LOL For someone that uses a spoonful at a time, I guess this would be impractical, but I tend to use chives by the handful, and keep them in air tight containers. There's no way I'm going to pay the amount companies charge, per ounce, for those tiny bottles. This was the best price out there.Unlike some brands that can be off color and pulverized into powder at the bottom of the bag, these were a nice green, still in tact, keeping their shape, and flavorful.Highly recommended.

Excellent Product!!! Ignore the bad reviews, they aren’t telling the truth!
I don’t write a review for every product I purchase. I depend heavily on well written reviews and it really irritates me when people are dishonest. I decided to buy this product despite several bad reviews, I’m so happy I did! These are wonderful tasting chives! Better than anything I’ve bought in the store. You can tell they are going to be good as soon as you open the bag! Frontier is my go to for fresh herbs and spices from now on. I was not paid for or asked to write this review.

Very tasty dehydrated chives for not a lot money
I needed some chives for a recipe and found I have used the last. So off to the store to buy some when I was struck by "sticker shock." Nearly US$6 for a jar of chives, net weight 0.113 oz. $50 for one ounce! Ouch!So I decided to check Amazon and see if they had cheaper pricing for chives. To my dismay glass bottled spices were nearly as expensive on Amazon as in a local grocery store. There were other packages of chives listed in the search, and I saw these Frontier chives listed. One pound for less than $18. I decided to try them (along with some Frontier chopped onions so the price was enough for free shipping, I use onion and chives in my cooking a lot), and they are great! Tasty and easy to store, just pour a small amount into a jar and put the rest into your freezer for safe-keeping.No, the chives are not "freeze-dried", but no one who eats the dishes I make with these can tell the difference. I find they are very flavorful and add a very subtle but noticeable quality that freeze-dried chives don't have.

Big Disappointment to this HUGE Chives Addict -- Tiny, Rubbery & Essentially Flavorless!
First off, in all honesty, I should preface this review by saying that I am TOTALLY ADDICTED to chives and I put them on practically EVERYTHING (with the exception of desserts/sweets and beverages). Eggs, chicken, fish, homemade ranch dressing, potatoes (when I was still eating them before going on a low-carb diet), soups, rice (when I was still eating them before going on a low-carb diet), chicken salad, tuna salad, egg salad, pasta (and now that I don't eat regular pasta because of the carbs, I put them on Miracle Noodle Shirataki Pasta) and after coming across the suggestion online, I also now have some organic whole-milk cottage cheese (Kalona SuperNatural brand), mixed with a bit of organic sour cream (Kalona SuperNatural brand, again) and some chives and a bit of Himalayan pink salt, and its DELICIOUS!So, to say that I ♡ ♥ ♡ chives would be a MASSIVE understatement. I'm actually an ABSOLUTE FIEND for chives and as such, have tried many different brands of chives from a variety of places Although I LOVE the brand Mother Earth Products Chives that I'd been using prior to this, because it comes in a 1 quart jar, (which doesn't last that long in the hands of a chives addict like me) and I wanted to get chives in an even larger amount, I switched to the 1 lb bag of Frontier Chives. I also liked the fact that these chives are supposedly all-natural, Kosher and Non-Irradiated, and that Frontier is a member-owned co-op, responsible to people and planet. I was so impressed by these factors, that even BEFORE getting it, and trying it, I immediately added it to my "Subscribe & Save", thinking I'd want to get it in a regular automatic subscription! But after I tasted these chives for the first time, I cancelled my subscription, and will never buy these again. I really regret buying it in the first place, especially in such a large size, since I'm now basically STUCK WITH IT, because it wasn't until after it had been ordered & delivered that I found out that this item is not even eligible for return. Like I said, I've tried a few different brands of chives, and as a high-volume user can safely say with certainty, that in my opinion, unfortunately, Frontier Chives was just about the worst I've ever had and I do NOT recommend them by any means! These chives are HORRIBLE!!UNLIKE pretty much ALL the other chives I've had in the past (regardless of the brand name or generic), these chives have been cut almost to smithereens to the point that it has no real flavor. Although the close-up of one of the pictures in the listing says that these chives are chopped, unfortunately I didn't click on the close-ups of all the pictures (my mistake, I know!) before I bought it -- and thus didn't even know it WOULD be chopped, though I assumed it probably would be, like other brand's chives are. But the problem is that these chives are not just chopped like other brands, but have been minced practically into a powder (not quite, but almost!). Furthermore, the little bits of chives are dry and rubbery!I really wish I had not bought these chives in a 1 pound bag, because unless I use it in the large quantity that I use other chives (which, as tasteless & disgusting as it is, I'm struggling to do) short of just tossing it out in the trash (which the more frugal side of me can't bring myself to do!) I will be stuck using these chives for months before I can finally be rid of it, and go back to the WONDERFUL Mother Earth Products ChivesSo if you want GOOD chives, short of growing them fresh in your own garden or in window-sill containers or something if you have a "green thumb" (and since I seem to have a BLACK thumb, growing my own chives doesn't seem possible in the foreseeable future) I'd advise people to STAY FAR AWAY from these Frontier Chives and instead, get the Mother Earth Products Chives instead, which are probably the next best thing to growing your own. I just wish I'd realized that before I'd bought these gross chives!★ 1 STAR!!!!!

I love fresh chives
I love fresh chives, but I live in a remote location - more than an hour to the nearest town. Therefore I often use dehydrated seasonings when I dont feel like spending half my day shopping and driving.I have purchased other dehydrated Chives in smaller packages from other vendors at higher prices per ounce. These are as good as I have found and they meet my needs and expectations.A good product and from a vendor from whom I am now purchasing other spices and dehydrated seasonings.

Great Product
I have been extremely pleased with all the products I have purchased from Frontier. I love to cook and want the best ingredients. The chives are fantastic - we use a lot of them on baked potatoes and in salad dressings. I shared my one pound bag of chives with my friends and put the rest in my freezer. Good value.

Very fresh and tasty but now too pricy
Absolutely delicious but the price has gone up by about ten dollars in the past year or so. I can’t really afford them now.
