Looks clear, but it works for heat rejection.
Looks clear, but it works for heat rejection.1. clean glass first, make nice clean, you can check glass by hand.2. measure window glass and cut film(smaller about 1/4" is better, you don't need to trim film later)3. put two pieces masking tape on the film top side corners, then stick on glass, then put more masking tap to hold the top side.4. put one piece masking tape on the film bottom back ( left or right corner).5. hold the piece bottom masking tape, then slowly peel off the film, you can spray water on the film back by the half way, then peel off all the back clear plastic, don't put down the film, spray more water on the glass, then let the film touch the glass, adjust the film on the glass center. then spray water on the film face and slowly squeeze it.

The video is great, but the heat reduction is nonexistent.
I purchased this because it seemed like what I wanted for my east-facing front door – a heat shield from the morning sun. The film was easy to install after watching the great video they provide. Unfortunately, the film itself does little or nothing to reduce the heat that gets trapped between my storm door and front door.I also read where it’s a pain to remove the film, so I don’t know about my next steps…

Pretty good
This film works very well, I would advise paying attention to the tint color and degree. I wanted a film that would be reflective but wouldn't hinder natural light from coming in. The picture with the effects seems pretty accurate.Cons: The instructions are a little confusing. I had to look up instructions online.

Spray bottle of soapy water most important.
Our project was very difficult as we were covering 5 skylights measuring 24" wide by 46" long and at the angle of the roof about 12 feet above the floor. Two skylights on the south roof and three on the west roof. Setting up a door on two sawhorses covered by a soft blanket we rolled out 48" length, cut it with a straight edge and the enclosed knife. Two inches of Scotch tape under and over a corner helped to separate the liner from the film adhesive side. After soaking the film with the soapy water I handed the bottle to my daughter who volunteered to install the film. She soaked the glass with the soapy water and I handed her the film. With the help of three sizes of squeegees she was able to coax the film into place and eliminate all the bubbles. Trimmed the edges with the enclosed knife. Our reason for doing this rather difficult project was that the skylights had become a large source of heat as we were having heat wave with inside temperatures exceeding 100 degrees with air conditioning running full blast. The film lowered the temps under the skylights about 20 degrees. Not as much as I hoped but enough to justify the effort. The amount of light coming through was minimally reduced.

This resulted in a huge cost of money and huge waste of time to remove and try to find the ...
BuyDecorativeFilm clearly does not have the quality control capabilities to run an average business. I ordered two units of exactly the same tint films from the same webpage; one in 50 feet and one in 100 feet. When the tint is first rolled up in the box and delivered, an average person does not know the difference in shade (5%, 15%, 20%, etc.), when they are rolled up, they all look practically the same. However, after you install these on windows or in my case, very expensive 4 feet by 8 feet clear acrylic pieces (18 pieces at $250 each), they were clearly completely different type of tints with different colors, shade, and reflective qualities. This resulted in a huge cost of money and huge waste of time to remove and try to find the right tint as initially purchased from BuyDecorativeFilm. I even called their customer service number and they simply stated, Sorry, there's no storefront you can come in to, however, we can send you samples of our films so you can try to match it. And that it will take two weeks. That's a bit ridiculous isn't it?In addition to this, after attempting to go with another tint manufacturer entirely, they let me know that all manufacturers make their tints a little differently and it would be nearly impossible to find an exact match of the film from BuyDecorativeFilm. So if you purchased a film from BDF, good luck trying to ever match it, as they send you completely different shades, colors, reflective qualities, on the same item purchase. My recommendation is to find a better manufacturer of film/tint like 3M that you can count on providing the same tint at least, and to stay away from this one called BuyDecorativeFilm.

Tiny air bubbles everywhere
I read the directions, watched the installation video, followed everything to a tee. And somehow I ended up with hundreds of tiny little air bubbles everywhere once it completely dried. I have no idea what I could have done better. Before it dried I couldn't see a single air bubble, I went over it with the squeegee many times , they only appeared after. I did both a top and bottom pane and both turned out the same way. I bought the N60 which is nearly clear, I can't imagine what a darker tint would have looked like. Where there isn't bubbles it looks pretty good, you can barely tell it's there, but there's also a weird waviness to it, like I'm looking through a window that's over 50 years old (they're less than half that).

We're Impressed with the Film's Quality & Ease of Installation.
We found it was very easy to install, and was the right shade for our home windows. No bubbles either. We plan on doing all oir windows now.

Great quality, effective heat-rejection.
I used the silver 60 and the loos of light is minimal, but heat rejection very noticeable. I even used it on the OUTSIDE of a skylight, and I bet it will last just fine. (Ever tried to put film on the INSIDE of a skylight??? UGH!!!)Adhesive is aggressive, so handle with care, and DON’t attempt it alone!
