Great OCR gloves
Used these in a Spartan trifecta last weekend and they helped immensely. I used them on most obstacles.

Great to Help Prevent Blisters While Rowing
I ordered a couple pairs of these minimalist gloves for my kids and husband to use on there canoeing trip this summer. There will be a lot of rowing and I hoping these will help prevent blisters. The minimalist gloves seem to protect the part of the hand that typically blisters with activities. They are also going to test them out on the rowing machines at the gym.The gloves have a nice padded grip on the inside of the hand. The gloves also have a small carabiner clip to keep them together and clipped to your bag while not in use.We got a size Large and they fit, but we probably should've got a size Medium. You don't want the gloves to be loose or you could end up getting friction blisters from the gloves themselves.Overall these minimalist gloves seem fine. I did have to pull the tag out from the inside seam because that was rubbing.

Minimalistic Style. Maximum Usefulness.
I bought the Franklin Spartan fingerless gloves to wear in a local mud run/OCR where they held up great in the mud and kept their grip on the ropes plus provided traction on the tube slides.I also wore them during a series of fitness classes held by a local fire department using their training equipment and techniques. After taking a beating for a month, they came out with plenty of future wear left in them. They are easily washable and dry quickly.I am a female and my widest palm measurement is about 3.2" with a ring size of 8 for my middle finger for reference. The size small is just right. They are snug enough to not slip at all wet or dry but not tight enough to cause any discomfort.

Good concept but bad grip
I was looking for ultralight gloves, as an option to protect against calluses, to do pull up workouts during my runs. Lightweight weight lifting gloves get a bit warm, and I prefer to keep the 80's workout montage to a minimum while running where my neighbors can see me.I came across there Franklin Spartan Minimalist OCR Gloves, and I really liked the concept! But, they do have a few real-life functional issues:- The bulky material adds a lot of material in between your palms and the bar so it's hard to get a good grip on the bar.- The bulky material on the half fingers again adds material between your fingers and the bar, so it's harder to grip around the bar. Imagine increasing the diameter of the bar you are trying to grip.- The red pads do not provide enough grip/traction on a metal bar so it feels almost slippery.I read that others have had similar problems, and I can confirm that I have the same issue. I normally wear medium-large to large gloves, and the large size did fit very securely around my palm. I'll keep testing them out for now.

👀
Someone talks about her son slipping with these. I haven't had a single problem with them slipping. And for the price I was skeptical. But worth it

Simple and functional..
It obtained these to use in my 2020 Spartan events. I had some issues with tears on my hands in a past OCR, and hope that these will help protect me in the next event. The gloves were snug but fit true to size I offer. They seem to be well made. They have some decent stitching and even have reenforcement tabs sewn under the finger grab points. These are only 4 fingered gloves. I have used similar products that had a thumb section as well, so these gloves might take a little getting used to, but I may like them better inn the end.I am looking forward to giving them a test run, and will update my review after my next race.

Good fit and grip
These fit good and they offer very good grip. Can be used for biking or even weight lifting. Materials used are good quality and seem durable.

Not much help
Bought these for my husband after he mentioned how slippery the obstacles were if it rained during a spartan race. He tried to make them work for an Ultra and a Beast race but expressed that they did not provide any added grip (rain or shine). He also mentioned that they made traversing rope or metal obstacles more difficult and he would prefer getting blisters from using his bare hands. These were expensive to begin with and it's disappointing to see that a seasoned athlete has no use for them.
