Solid value for money, good bright red dot at low power.
I read lots of reviews saying that this sight has halos and dots and whatnot. It seems to be nearly ideal to me and I have no idea what they are talking about. It is a good sight that mounted well, worked well, and is very satisfactory. I use the light at the lowest setting as it is easy to see on a bright day. The parallax is not zero, but with a good cheek weld this is as good as things can get. The eye relief is infinite.I am mounting this on a Marlin 336 30-30 lever gun and the supplied mount is kind of high for my tastes (It was AR height), so I tossed the super heavy duty mount and went with some low rings to get it as low as possible. The look is great, and while I can see the sight at the end of the barrel, it is below the dot. I am very happy, although if I knew what I know now, I would have went mount-less on the order. As far as value for money, I have no experiences with other red dot sights. I think that the quality of the sight is commensurate with the cost. I really like Leupold stuff though, so maybe I am a fanboy?

Worth every penny
Leupold (need I say more?). They did it again. Yes, it seems big but when in use, the size disappears and gives a crisp, very clear optical field of view. Easy to zero and holds it despite some rough handling (not combat but hard training that included some bumps and hits). I like the 1-minute of angle red dot: it's big enough and bright enough (and adjustable) for close-up hitting but small enough it doesn't cover up the target at distance. I've had several other red dots over the years, but this one is a keeper! I'm selling another of my red dot sights and getting another Freedom RDS.

Best if you can afford it.
The item itself is great, but I sent it back 4 days ago because it was too expensive, and I have not received any word from the seller or Amazon. I would like my money back so I can start looking again. Checked with UPS and they show this item was received at Distribution point and I have not heard a word or received my money back.

Leupold excellent products
Leupold excellent product , all my rifles and shotguns have Leupold products. I put this on my benelli shotgun that I use for turkey hunting , the only wish I have is that it had a size 2 dot , other than that perfect .

Poor quality.
The red dot is not usually if ever just a single dot , it will have other light images around it whether it’s a line or another piece of a dot beside it.I have always been a big Leupold fan until now, as far as I’m concerned it’s junk and I have read other reviews about the same issue so it just not my opinion.

Do your research, know going in
I like this RDS. Second Leupold I own, first RDS. I would have given this a 5 star except for the dot itself. I like the small 1 MOA size however it can look like a few small dots close together. I called Leupold about this issue and the tech/csr assured me it isn't an issue. Was informed that only happens if the illumination setting is too high for the ambient light. I see 2 and sometimes 3 small dots on a cloudy day on the next to lowest setting. I got the other Leupold optic I have and sure enough, same thing. I never noticed it before because I wasn't looking at the dot but the target. Now that I know I'll need to train not to look at the dot but the target. I hear a lot of optics have complaints when the user focuses on the reticle and not the target. And the front lens has a mirror finish which could be an issue if you were wanting to be less conspicuous but I sure do appreciate the clearness of this glass. I'm keeping this optic, I knew the complaints going in and they weren't enough to sway me away. Maybe they are for others but my Leupold scope is at least 8 years old and still works like new.
