Does exactly what it should
This has been purchased for an HP laptop, it has four USB ports, a serial port for the monitor and a couple of additional ones not currently in use. Docking is really straight forward and it has been the primary power source for several weeks with out interruption so none of the power issues identified in other reviews were experienced. The docking station was good value for money, arrived promptly and was reasonably packaged, all a plus in my book. The laptop drops neatly into two prongs and then locks into position with a charging button to the right side, simple and easy to use.Definitely worth the cash for the convenience.

Just like new...
...except a small cut on the power cord. No marks or scratches in evidence. Works flawlessly. Paired with HP docking station for a great computer!!

great functionality, questionable durability
It is great convenience to be able to dock the laptop and instantly have the second monitor, mouse, power and headset ready to go. But be aware that these docking stations do not necessarily hold up well. I ordered this to replace an older one (same model) where the power switch first became finicky, and then failed to the point where docking caused the laptop to immediately shut down.

Display ports are broken
The display ports on the back of the docking station don't work at all. Any time I connect one of my monitors, it starts flickering on and off and I can't do anything about it. I've tried to navigate through HP's support, but no luck. I assume the thing shipped with outdated firmware, but I don't have admin privileges to fix it. You'd think the sellers would care enough about their product to ship it with more recent firmware than 2013, but they've made it abundantly clear that they don't care. Absolute waste of $100, I'm willing to bet the product isn't even "new" either. Save yourself the headache and just get yourself a splitter for the display port on your laptop.
