Yes it's heavy....To heavy to use regularly in the street or for use during a shopping trip . But does give a great sense of impregnbility for longer term storage of a loved bicycle or other mobile possessionsTeamed with your own padlock this works well on the budget side of security. Ted

Wear this round my neck whilst cycling with a huge brass padlock swinging like a medallion and use them for locking up my bike, seems to do the job! Very heavy though, not for people with smaller necks😂

It's a good solid chain, with 8mm steel links it's heafty. It has a webbed sleeve to prevent scratches to whatever you secure with it.This is the lower limit of how thin a security chain for a bike should be as bolt cutters are the new norm for bike Thieves apparently.It'll make things difficult but not impossible. I'm only using it for securing bike on brief visits to shop etc. Along with a hefty padlock.!Certainly wouldn't advise using this chain and a padlock as sole security measure if leaving bike In public place unattended for long periods. Fyi. Thieves apparently also now use battery powered angle grinders.My only criticism of this chain is that the link joins haven't got a very noticeable weld, some chains have a bulging weld showing the metal was pushed together well when hot This chains welds are a bit sparse... But for the price and purpose I need it for.. more than adequate.

needed a new chain to hold my motorcycle helmet to my bike when out and about - had to use my old one for something else and this is a very good replacement and well worth the money. ideal for its purpose

We bought this as when we drive to Spain there are a lot of thieving, ahem, "people" who would try to open the locks on the gates and steal cars. And I, for one, prefer not to have my car stolen.We put this chain on the gate, with a suitable padlock. They came up to the gates, messed with the lock, looked at the size of the chain, and walked away. Job done. Did not return.Bought for a purpose, fulfilled the purpose. Ergo, 5 stars.
