I should have bought this right off the bat. I started with just barbed fittings punched into the 1/2 feed line but most leaked. I even used marine sealer and they still leaked. These work great, no leaks. The barb for the 1/4 line is pretty big. It's really difficult to push the hose over the barb without heating up the tubing first. I use a small butane torch and just flash the tubing. Worth the effort for me to not have the leaks.

Nice, quick and easy installation. Just used box knife to cut the 1/2" tube in single motion, then slide the collars over on each side, slid the tube over each end of the fitting, screwed the collars on and hand-tightened. The really nice thing about this fitting is that is MUCH sturdier than the push in barb fittings anad works far better for applications which might require the 1/4" tube be moved around from pot to pot. In my experience, the barbs work themselves loose if the tube is moved too frequently.

Look and feel as rugged as the ones I’ve bought locally. I only use them to patch my drip/soaker hoses on Occassion where I cut my hoses while digging in my flower beds. But to avoid having to stop a repair to get more of these parts, it’s very cost effective for me to have a big collection of these.

Does the job.

These were so much cheaper and do the job just as well. Seems like the edges that hold it together are slightly taller/sharper so it actually holds better and is no more difficult to push together. Do it on a warm day when the pipe is more workable!

Works better than the other type where you have to slide the tubing into it!! Save your hands and choose this style instead!
