Lo compré porque no quiero usar demasiado el aire acondicionado y funcionó perfectamente no es que enfríe igual que un aire , pero mantiene fresca la habitación donde lo uso y cuando quiero humidificador agrego agua y listo , por las noches uso la función de dormir y es genial , me gusta mucho este cooler

I live in LA so maybe it’s too humid. It did an okay job at cooling as a fan but not didn’t really make a change in the room temperature

We only have had short time of hot weather before we didn't need this but I really really like it and I know I will use it all summer next year!Disclaimer- if you live in a really humid climate, this is probably not your best choice because it's *already* humid. If you live in a an arid climate like I do, a evap cooler like this is wonderful to have around.I'm one of those weirdos who don't like to keep my home really cold when it's hot outside. I think it's unhealthy to use air conditioning that heavily, it's not only expensive but how stupid is it to make your home so cold you have to wear a sweater inside? I think this evap cooler is the perfect thing for a smaller space to keep you comfortable when the temps are soaring without drying out the air and making it too cold.No, it's not going to cool your entire house like a full-on compressor A/C unit will. It's not meant for that. It's meant to keep you comfortable on hot days.What I love about this unit:-It automatically turns itself off when the water level is too low for it to work efficiently-You can clean the cooling pad if it collects pet hair and dust by just hosing it off-It's quiet enough to have on at night to just give you a nice cool, damp breeze to fall asleep to until it cools off at night (again, if you live in a humid climate that never cools off at night, this probably isn't for you)-Much better for the environment and your power bill

After a couple of uses, this air cooler broke. We could not get the drawer back into the unit after several uses. Something in the back of the unit broke and would not allow the drawer to close. If the drawer doesn't close, the unit doesn't work. The functions on it were good and the remote control was convenient.

Easy to use, efficient, comfortably cools the air.

We've ordered two months ago and since then we've gone through 2 units. The first unit worked for 2 weeks and by a month the cooling feature no longer worked. We contacted Black & Decker and went through the process to get a new one. We got the most recent one a couple weeks ago and the latch inside the water compartment is staying down. We have to hold it up to get the water compartment in. So the water compartment is just staying in and we are filling with a pitcher. The cooling function is starting to have issues similar to the first one we got.

Update to my review - still super happy with this unit. Saves me money and can be easily moved to any room in the home. I cannot believe how cold it can get the room when I use ice packs in the water. Chilly and nice without running my main AC unit into overtime trying to cool hotspots from direct sun.Few things before I get started.*This machine is designed to cool in LOW humidity, if you live in Houston Texas, this isn't gonna work for you. It works by moving moisture into dry air, cooling the temps. - So here in Arizona we are out of the monsoon season with its high humidity but the temp is 90 degrees today with plenty of sunshine. Now is the time for us to use this machine. Come next spring/summer it will be good as a fan/air filter but that is about it.*You have to soak the green cooling pad in addition to filling the water tank. It must in place and wet to use the cooling feature.*Use ice or the provided ice packs (reusable) to get the best initial result or add with extended use. Cooler the water, cooler the breeze.What I like:Super lightweight, has wheels so it's easy peasy to maneuver to where it's needed.Works like a charm, super-strong fan with a rotating fan guard to beak up the wind flow.Easy to read buttons located conveniently on the top of the machine.Has a sleek minimal look, the ivory color almost fades into the wall behind it.Easy to reach filters and water tank.It's perfect for my home that gets "hot spots" from the sun, I just take it where needed. Helps me chill the house down for peak energy (aka really expensive) so I can basically turn off the expensive AC unit.Black and Decker is a trusted name so I am expecting many years of use - I will update after a couple of months of use.Highly recommend this for LOW HUMIDITY environments.
