Tomato Powder - 10 Lb Bag

...said my wife when I told her I bought this (she always yells at me like that).The price per pound was far and away less expensive than many other products of the same type. And, I have purchased other powdered products from Angelina's Gourmet with excellent results. I packed this powder into individual quart sized mason jars and vacuum sealed them using my Foodsaver vacuum sealer (also purchased from Amazon). They'll keep just fine in my basement pantry for several years.This stuff is so good you could snort it (well, I don't actually recommend you do that, but it is pretty darn good). I mixed an equal amount of tomato powder and water to make a wonderfully flavorful tomato paste. I also mixed about 10-1 ratio for a delicious tomato juice that even my wife said tastes fresh and good. It is an extremely versatile product that can be used to flavor and thicken soups and stews. I've used it in hamburgers, meatloaf, spaghetti sauce (to make it more tomato-y) all with great results. I've made swiss steak with a jar of home canned tomatoes in the slow cooker and used the liquid mixed with some tomato powder to make a nice robust thick tomato gravy.Yes, I will definitely buy this again.

This was a great buy. I use tomato power all the time and have been for years. If you like tomatoes you will love the powder. This is a large bag so I vacuum sealed most of it in 1 pint bags. You have to keep tomato powder dry. If mine gets hard I mix it with water and freeze it in small useable amounts. Line a cookie sheet with plastic wrap. Drop large table spoons of the liquid tomato, freeze and then wrap each separate in plastic wrap, store in plastic bag in freezer.

Bought this after finishing the 13 oz. size in less than two weeks. Goes well with everything, especially when substituted for those sodium filled flavour packets that come with Ramen noodles. (To spice it up, add a few drops of Tabasco Sauce.) Shared some with friends, and I'm pretty sure that they'll become customers real soon, as they're certainly not getting any more of mine.

Dry packed this powder and put into quart jars for later use.Tastes WONDERFUL! Just like tomato sauce out of the can, only in a dry form. Looking forward to using it in soups and other dishes!
