I recently purchased this dotted-paper hardcover and have been absolutely thrilled with its performance. (Sarcasm alert: not really, but it's actually pretty great.) One of the main reasons I purchased this notebook was to use with my fountain pen, and I can confirm that it works well with this writing instrument. In fact, I found that it worked even better than my previous notebook from a cheaper brand.In terms of appearance, the hardcover is pretty snazzy. The pages are numbered, The notebook feels relatively sturdy, unless you try to use it as a frisbee. And the included ruler? Wow, talk about luxury. (Actually, it's a handy addition.)The highlight for me for me was the pen holder.Overall, I am satisfied with my purchase of this dotted-paper hardcover. I would recommend it to others.

I've bought two of these in the past 3 years. I appreciate the combination of added features this journal has over others available at this price: the elastic pen holder on the spine, elastic closure, attached ribbon bookmark, numbered pages, paper quality/thickness, storage pocket, and included ruler. The pages have not had any issues with bleed through, but I only use a couple of different pens (Pilot G2s and Sakura Pigma Microns). Additional color options would be wonderful.The A5 on the listing is a bit of a fib and why this is not rated 5 stars. The pages are not standard A5 width (148 × 210 mm), even the “A5 Hardcover” is not wide enough to be considered A5. I noticed this after ordering an A5 accessory that does not properly fit into the journal as expected due to the width of this journal not being correct. I have a different brand journal that the accessory fits correctly because the pages and cover are the correct A5 width. I hope this is just a quality control issue, and the seller can correct this in the future.

Amazing notebook! Well made, pages are thick, you can see the dots just enough, thee bookmark doesn't unravel! I will continue to buy.

I ordered a bunch of notebooks at the same time to compare them, including the Lemome from Amazon as well, and a popular brand that's very pricey and "olive" it at that ;) plus Amazon's basic version and the old reliable standards the ever popular Leuchtturm1917 and Moleskine. (seriously? why are those so popular? They're not good!)This notebook wins HANDS DOWN. The binding is fantastic. The inner pocket is nice. The cover feels great. Only SLIGHT complaint was that I like different colors, but I just got some opaque gel pens and decorated the cover. :) It had all my wish list items - binding that lays flat and doesn't separate, an elastic pen holder, pre-numbered pages, no pre-made index pages or calendars, beautifully smooth THICK paper but a good number of pages (160), size that fits in my purse, and best of all doesn't break the bank. Also, there's a surprise I didn't know about until I received the notebook and realized they give you a sleeve that you can put it in when you fill it and put the dates/subject and archive that bad boy! How GENIUS.I'm including some pictures of different ink tests. It stood up to even pretty watery fountain pen ink (although when I tapped it to get it going, it left a big splatter which did ghost a bit). The only thing that really showed through was a thick permanent marker like you'd use on a poster. I think I labeled every brand in the pictures. Then the second picture shows the reverse side of the page and the opposite page where there was ZERO bleeding.This was comparable to the Lemome book -- with slightly fewer pages, but still in my opinion just a little better because of the numbered pages and the archival sleeve, and the dots are fainter than the Lemome. Please buy lots of notebooks from these guys so they will keep making them and I will always be able to re-order! I promise you will not be disappointed.And seriously ... check my history lol I rarely review things and when I do, never this glowing.

I had my doubts whilst reading the negative reviews, but I realized how wrong some of them were. I was looking for ANY notebook with thick pages. I used to use stone paper, but whenever I tried to use watercolors and brush pens, they would always smear. I couldn’t even use gel pens!As soon as I felt the pages, I knew this book would be different. Nothing has bled through, and I’ve used tombow, mildliners, gel pens, fine liners , watercolors and nearly everything else. The only thing that bled through was permanent markers, so I replaced anything I needed permanent markers for with the stiff end of my brush pens. The only time something ghosted on the other pages was when I put more water on top of my watercolor art.Otherwise, no ghosting! No bleeding! It lays flat no matter what page you’re on!If I were to give any criticism , it would be that the page numbers are not in the same position as the last and that if you aren’t careful then after constant flattening and flipping through pages you could accidentally detach it from the binding at the bottom. However, it is extremely hard to rip out any page so no need to worry about your pages falling out after repeated use. Just be careful around the bottom spine area if that is something that will bother you.All in all, this dot grid journal is everything I’ve ever been looking for ever since my first BuJo was ruined by bleed through and warped pages.If you’re on the fence like I was, trust me and take the leap!! This thing is amazing and I will be ordering their books from here on out when I need a new one!Hopefully by then they will have a selection of colors to choose!
