This proves that a benevolent like weed can achieve more than a tyrant.
Cyrus was a true leader as this book shows. He proves that you don't have to be abusive of your subjects to be a leader. He was admired because of his tolerance of people that were different than himself. This is a point that our leaders of today should learn. Cyrus unified people because of his tolerance instead of vilifying his subjects he was inclusive.A lesson that our leaders need to learn. All in all an interesting read.

The life of Cyrus the Great the benevolent Empire builder
Cyrus II is known as Cyrus the Great. He was the founder of the Achaemenid Empire. He believed in conquering many other empires and was killed in battle fighting the Massagetae. Most conquerors force the conquered people to accept their culture, and they rule autocratically. Cyrus was a benevolent ruler who did not interfere with life, local cultures, or religion of the conquered people. He ruled various states by using local governors who were overseen by the central government. The e-book described various legends related to Cyrus’birth and early life. His method of rule caused many conquered people to see him as a liberator instead of a tyrant. He wished to expand the Achaemenid Empire as much as he could and constantly fought other empires until his death. I did not know that much about Cyrus the Great other than what I read in the Bible before reading this e-book. This e-book provides an excellent overview of’s Cyrus life, his philosophy, and the states he conquered. This e-book is especially useful for those of us who are not knowledgeable about the Achaemenid Empire.

Not bad
Not very informative. Very short book that is a quick read but has no depth or real references or sources to the statements. If you’re looking for a general overview of Cyrus the Great it’s not bad.

Interesting read
The book is a fascinating look at the life of Cyrus the Great. He was not only a great strategist and expanded his empire but was also a benevolent ruler. Unlike most other rulers at that time he allowed the people he conquered to practice their religion and customs.I enjoyed the book - it was concise and informative.

Filling In The Gaps
I am a student of Biblical History. I have always believed that it is always good to have a good general view of history so I can have a complete understanding of what happened during different times in both biblical and secular history. This book has done a very good job of filling in the gaps of events I was aware of but that I did not have a complete understanding of.For anyone who appreciates history this is definitely a good read.

Cyrus the Great Was Truly Great
Cyrus survived his grandfather’s attempt to have him killed before he was born because of a dream he had. When Cyrus was a young man, he fought again his grandfather and defeat him. As he would do with countless other rulers, he didn’t kill his grandfather but allowed him to live albeit as a well treated captive. At the time of his death, Cyrus’s Persian Empire was the largest ever. He ruled as a generous leader and he allowed the conquered peoples to retain their religions, customs and their properties. That is was truly made Cyrus Great.
