gorgeous
Bought this knife to complement my set of Henckels knives. This is a beautiful, high-quality knife. Razor sharp out of the box and feels fantastic in the hand.

Form meets function. My favorite knife
There are plenty of reviews on the mizu line especially the chef's knives. I just can't help but be amazed by how sharp and effortless this line makes kitchen prep out of the box. No resistance whatsoever to get the knife through even hard vegetables and meat. This is due to the thin blade angle, hard steel used, and craftsmanship from miyabi. The knife is beautiful with its hammered Damascus pattern. The handle is high quality synthetic material. I feel like I'm holding a piece of artAs far as the kiritsuke style is concerned, I will say that this is a fairly long knife, which is great for slicing and letting the blade do the work. I minced herbs, cut meat, etc with this knife and it was effortless. The shape lends itself to push cutting and tip work, which means no rock chopping or plastic boards. This is a fairly advanced style of knife for most people, but I found it agreeable to my prefered cutting styles.

Sharp
This is my sharpest knife out of the box. I bought mine for use in my own kitchen, not for a knife roll transport nor for showing off with a nice box, which is then ok that the box it comes in, while a quality storage, is a bit unimpressive looking.I cannot compare with sharpness of other similar knives, since this is my first quality steel knives, but compared to my Zwilling knives, these are vastly sharper. This one is very long, which great in usage, but I need to find a more suitable storage solution.Make sure your budget includes a suitable cutting board.

The Excalibur of Home use kitchen knives!
This Knife is the top of the line for what you can find on amazon when it comes to home use knives! I love this one! I have many different sets of knives but this one is my favorite! Its light weight and easy to hold for me but I honestly have large hands. This may be harder to handle for a petite chef. My Shun knives are nice but this Miyabi is so well balanced and crafted you feel like King Authur weilding Excalibur. Great knife

Razor sharp
1st of all its a large knife. I think it’s a beautiful and well made knife. It’s also a very sharp knife. It’s the sharpest Miyabi knife I’ve bought. It slips right through anything I try to cut with it.

Decent knife
Kiritsuke is my go to style for Japanese knives, and Miyabi usually makes a decent product, the knife is nice, well balanced, the blade is ok out of the box, but there’s a crack that runs the length of the handle, and I expect better than that from Miyabi
