Q: It looks like this could fall into your head, nothing holds the board back up to the wall?

The way the surf rack is designed - it is intended for the surfboard to lean back against the wall at an angle where the center of gravity of the surfboard has shifted toward the wall. Which means the board wants to lean backwards. The grip strip combined with the anti-slip peg keep the board in place. Both racks should be attached to wood wall studs. The board would have to be physically pushed or knocked forward for it to fall ...as is the case for most surfboard racks.

Aloha - We use a crisscrossing wood ply core to give it extra strength and add real Mahogany veneers on the top and bottom of the rack to give it a much more pleasing look. Q: What board is shown here in the photos?

Not sure but I think the label that came with mine said it’s good for a 6-9’5 and it gives you a chart for rack distance vs board length. I have a 9’2 on my rack and it works great and sturdy.
