Not really what I would consider a coloring book
I gave this purchase three stars because it isn't really a traditional coloring book. I have seen several Artist series coloring books where you get a book of their works to fill in your own way. This book is a guided experience. It has some Miró facts thrown in, but takes away a lot of your freedom. I do enjoy the full color pictures of the original works. I wanted to love this as it was a gift for a special needs student with an interest in the artist's work, but it really let me down. It only got three stars because of the full color art included.

Not what I hoped for
I wanted a traditional coloring book with each page an image for kids to color, but that is not the case. It is an interesting little book, but was not what I was looking for.

5 yr old granddaughter enjoyed it, especially after seeing an exhibit of Miro's work.

Mirroring Miro
This is a cute book you may not want the kids to color in! Kids learn the fun of abstract art and surrealism. Empty Miro forms are artistically arranged next to the real Miro painted form, or one of his paintings is there next to a fill-in-your-own-colors line drawing of it. Kids put their own spin on Miro's work as a start to their journey of learning that realism is not the only kind of art.

A real find.
My granddaughter had told me about the amazing Miros she had seen in a sculpture park and I was delighted to find this colouring book. She is equally delighted to have it. To know that Miro is described as painting like a child is to know the absolute wonder in colour and shape that characterizes a child's, and a great artist's, clear view of the world.
