When I sent a large job to the printer, I noticed some smearing of the toner on the page, so I can't necessarily recommend this for anything other than light print jobs.

The best I can say is that you really cannot tell the difference between this toner and the HP original. With that said, there is one major difference: the lack of a chip. HP employs a chip to mark a toner as "genuine" and would refuse to work with any that lack one. Solution? Smartomni has you carefully remove the chip from the HP toner and insert it into its own. It took a couple tries until the printer recognized it -- likely an issue with alignment of the chip.Print quality looked indistinguishable, though as with any third party toner, I always worry about whether the toner would leak or later cause issues with the printer. We shall see.So, DO NOT THROW AWAY YOUR OLD HP TONER! You will need to remove the chip for use with the Smartomni!
