Wonderful 25th Anniversary Concert
Recently I've discovered the group Peter, Paul and Mary and have fallen' in love with them completely. I also own their other vhs video ... Holiday Special. It too is excellent. Here is a group that has obviously been around for a very long time and now, unfortunately Mary Travers has passed. They were legendary and their songs made you think and look at life in an innocent and holsom way. I'm sorry through my childhood I didn't follow them or pay more attention to their songs and music. They truly were an amazing group ! They were Incredible together. A TRUE Legend. Please discover them like I did.

Love Mary, Paul and Peter
I always enjoyed listening to the trio's folk-songs, including the now traditional American Civil rights songs and the anti-war songs. There really doesn't seem to be enough videos of this group, (I could only find one other DVD), so I jumped at the chance to get this DVD.Four songs have always stood out for me and they are "Where Have All The Flowers Gone," "Blowin In The Wind," "Leaving On A Jet Plane," and "If I Had A Hammer". There is one more song that I absolutely love and it is actually Paul's solo song, called "Wedding Song (There is Love)". This highly spiritual song was presented as a special and unique wedding gift from Paul to Peter and his bride at their wedding. All these songs are in this DVD and I found them enjoyable to watch. The concert was recorded in 1986, so the DVD quality looks slightly dated and a little fuzzy (grainy) on a 1080 high def TV. If you have older DVDs you probably know what I mean. On a 720 high def TV, closeups look OK and the background audience was a littly fuzzy.Audio sounds fine on the regular speakers of the 1080 high def TV. Audio sounds great on an audio system. (Didn't they always sound great on their CDs?).I hope more videos of this group will be issued. As Mary has passed away, there will be no more new songs as a trio from these great artists of their time.Mary's name always appeared last, but in my Book, her name always appeared first.

Best Ever
I was able to see PPM during their 25th Anniversary tour, and I wish I had been at this performance. It is without a doubt the best performance of any of the several times I saw them. I bought this because my VHS copy finally broke and will not play ever again. I simply feel that this is one video that must be viewed every so often. I realize that this is footage of a group of middle aged hipsters ( beatknicks, if you prefer.) but it is as important as their music was in the 1960's, and perhaps their performance is a bit more polished. This contains the definitive recording of Woody's This Land is Your Land, and is worth having for that alone, but listen to the rest of the music too. I don't believe you will be at all disappointed.

Great nostalgic purchase!
My dad grew up in the 60's and he had an old VCR recording of this that we would watch periodically growing up but it's been lost for many years. I remember him fast-forwarding through all the commercials and songs he didn't care for so we could listen to the songs without too much interruption. This DVD copy is just wonderful and covers the whole concert, only now I don't have to fast-forward through commercials. Each song is its own chapter, too, so you can choose which ones you want to watch if you only prefer certain songs to others, which is important for Millennials like me! Great, nostalgic buy. I ended up buying 3 so that certain family members could have copies too. I'm glad I did because the price went up a few dollars!

As a contemporary, nothing can match Peter, Paul and Mary!
The songs, artistry and performance is SPECTACULAR. The technical quality of the video and sound is quite poor by today's standards, however, I am so grateful to have the opportunity to go back in time more than 20-years and see this live performance. This was a huge audience with people of all ages, but of course most were adult contemporaries. Everyone seemed to be spellbound and moved beyond the performance to the special sensitivities of Peter, Paul and Mary. Have to admit I was moved to the extent of shedding a few tears. Again, I really appreciate the opportunity to view the performance, but it is so regrettable that the producer could not have done a better job with the technical presentation. But for that, this would rate 10-stars.

I WAS THERE
I grew up in the sixties and learned to play guitar playing the music of PP&M. They played Nashville at least 3 times that I recall and we were there each time. This concert was emotionally special since my wife had passed away the previous year at 31. The same friends that had accompanied us before we're there with me again. We sang along with each song even when Mary asked us not to sing "Leaving on a Jet Plane" because the arrangement was a little different. The trio had only gotten better thru the years. They did 2 sell-out nights and I only wish I could have been there for both. What a surprise when a shot from behind toward the audience showed me and my friends a few rows from the front singing along. Great buy for a super concert.

Nostalgic
I loved Peter Paul and Mary. This is a 25 Anniversary Collection. They still sound good, but it's kind of music from the past that hasn't really worn as well as some songs. My wife loved it, I was more lukewarm. I guess I'd say I've outgrown those old folk songs. But, if you're in the mood for that kind of rhythm, they've still got it.
