perfect for narrow markers (Tombow and Zig Clean Colors), not so perfect for pens/pencils
I have a set of Tombow markers that came with this stand, and I love it. It stays on the corner of my desk- the pens look fantastic and are easy to access and use and they stay organized. After receiving a full set (90) of the Tombow Irojiten colored pencils as a gift, and trying to figure out a storage solution so I could keep them on my desk, I decided to order another of these stand to see if it might work for colored pencils since it works so well for the markers.Because this stand was designed for Tombow markers (which are quite narrow, but not nearly as narrow as a pencil), the pencils slide around quite a bit in it. I used a little black masking tape to make the holes smaller, so it works, and fits well on my desk, but it's not the perfect solution for storage of color pencils. But again, that's not what it was designed for.On a lark, I tried some of my Zig Clean Color markers in them, and they do fit with the cap/brush tip facing up. So if you are wondering if this might be a good storage solution for those markers, it would. But if you are looking for a good storage solution for color pencils and don't want them sliding around in their slots and falling down diagonally into *other* slots, this is not perfect. I wish someone would invent a stand like this with smaller slots for the storage of pencils/pens. Until then, this is the closest I have found.

Best affordable option for pen, marker, pencil and brush storage!
This is a very affordable, quality item for storage of pens and markers, not just the Tombow brand. I have one of these already for my Tombow markers (5 or 6 years) so I new the quality was good. I ordered 2 more for my Kuretake markers and Kuretake watercolor brush sets. They fit perfectly in these racks! I have the 60 brush set and the 36 marker set. I could have fit them both in one rack but then I wouldn't have anywhere to put future purchases of the colors I don't have. :-) This stand is cheaper in price than the other options out there but it is also very durable and portable. You have to assemble this rack and I highly recommend you super glue both ends of the legs to the trays. They fit together snug but a little added protection will save you from dropping your pens/markers/brushes should it ever come apart. I've not had these racks come apart, I just like the added security. I highly recommend this rack, not only for the quality but since it is so much cheaper in price you will have more money to purchase more pen/markers/brushes! LOLMy only complaint? It doesn't come in white. C'est la vie!

A little glue would be a nice bit of insurance
It's a hard plastic stand that comes in six pieces. Push the four legs into the base at the corners, place the top on the legs and press. The rack is now assembled.I will probably add a little glue. It feels fairly secure, but I can imagine me picking up the rack by the top and sending the pens and pencils flying. A little glue would be a nice bit of insurance.Pencils fit rather loosely in the rack. The Tonbow dual-tip pens fit with slack. I have some Bic markers and they will fit up to the cap, but don't go all the way to the bottom. I tried some Sharpie markers that should be stored tip down and the first inch of the cap fits, but they mostly stick up.The rack has a 10x10 hole matrix, but will hold 96 items because the four corners are used for the leg supports. The height is 3 1/2 inches tall and it is 5 1/2 inches wide.

Spend More Time Coloring; Perfect for Colored Pencils
Everyone who colors or draws should get one of these TomBow stands. They are perfect not only for pens but for colored pencils as well. They fit many different size pencils including Prismacolor Premier Soft Cores, Verithins, Straedtler etc. Before I got this stand, I would spend a lot of time looking through my colored pencils trying to find the color I was looking for and now it's so easy to see and pick out the pencils that I want to use. So my time is spent coloring and not laboring over my pencil tins.I have not had any problems with the stability of this stand but I do make sure to support the base of it with my hand underneath it when I have moved it but I have seen no reason to glue it at the moment because it currently seems very stable. With the coupon listed with this product, it makes it the most affordable stand of this type on Amazon at the moment.
