I bought this on Amazon and it arrived couple of days later but was sitting on the floor for my installer to come and install it. I wired them before they are installed in the wall to make sure they work beforehand so there are no surprises after I cut the hole in the wall. I also got two 265-RT which I planned to use them as front L and R speaker but decided to move them and upgrade to this for my front set of speakers. I am glad I did since they suggest the best speakers for front including center. Here is my configuration.1. Polk 265-LS (Front L and R)2. Polk 255c-LS (Center)3. Polk 265-RT (Rear L and R)4. Polk PSW10 subwoofer.I just did the simple auto calibration in my Pioneer VSX-1021K receiver and all the speakers sound very nice. I can hear little sounds that I never heard before. Not an audiophile to comment how good others are but I am very happy with these speakers over all after watching few movies.However I have one issue with the subwoofer, I don't hear hardly any bass from subwoofer and most of my bass comes from front speakers. Trying to call Polk to figure how to make make my subwoofer make some noise so I can feel happy that I am getting my money's worth from this subwoofer. During the calibration it did detect my subwoofer but I hardly hear anything. I am thinking it might be some setup issue with my receiver and hoping I don't have to buy another subwoofer to work with these speakers.Grills that came with did not stick properly and flushed with the wall and I am thinking they are out of wack from packing. Called up Polk they sent me a couple of new ones to try. I will these guys 5 Stars.

For sure convenience sake we put a "high-end" soundbar in for our surround sound home theatre (5.1). Room is very large walk out basement. Ultimately ended up with two Polk 265-LS for left n right channel with Polk S-35 center channel powered by Marantz receiver. Add in a MnK sub plus two more 8-inch Polk speakers in the ceiling. Ahh, the Ode to Joy. Sometimes convenience is really the wrong answer. Although these install easy into standard drywall.Love the audio performance and wall hugging looks of these speakers. Installation was a breeze with the provided templates and dog ear attachments. Used XPS foam for blocking inside the wall. Really top notch audio for not a lot of cost.

These were amazing and completed my surroundsound. I absolutely love them I had them professionally installed.

I'm disappointed. I'm remodeling my house and wanted to use these as rear channel speakers. Overkill, I know, but I would have great sound.The box showed up. It said, "1 piece" and sure enough, only one speaker. I'm returning it for a pair of speakers.

it was easy to install, and being recessed into wall added space to room as the old speaker mounts are now gone. very good freq range and response. definitely worth the cost

I have paired this two of these speakers with the Polk Audio 255c-LS (center channel) and two 700LS ceiling surround speakers, and they sound fantastic. I integrated an older Onkyo sub-woofer into the system, which is absolutely necessary for complete sound.The covers attach to the speakers with magnets, so they are easy to take off and clean.The only issue I had was with the plastic screw tabs that hold them to the drywall. One broke off during installation, and I didn't put much torque on it. A few of the tabs, I had to run the screws backwards a quarter to half turn, so the tab would swing out to engage the drywall. Just take care when installing, and you shouldn't have any issues.

A word of warning. Test your speakers ALWAYS before installing them. One of my 265-LS speakers had an inoperable speaker. I think it was due to poor packaging by Amazon. But either way, check your products before installing them into the wall or cieling.Packaging and defective product aside. The quality of the speaker is good as far as I can tell by testing it solo. It is, of course, designed to be part of a home theatre set-up, and as such really needs a powered sub to help pick up the low-end slack. This is not a fault of the speaker. The design restrictions of being placed into a shallow wall simply prohibit deep bass reproduction.But why would be paying this price for an in-wall speaker? Design. Small space design, with minimal audio quality loss. In my opinion, this product achieves a good balance.But on the off chance the defective speaker was not a result of the bad Amazon packaging, I gave it only 4 stars. Quality check might have been the issue.

These speakers sound exceptional as surround back speakers in a 7.1.4 setup. They match perfectly with my Polk LSiM speakers and really give you that extra dimension! Installation was easy and the speakers are obviously made well with top notch components.
