DirecTV RC73B Universal Backlit Remote

I ordered this as a replacement for my original Directv Remote. I followed the programming instructions included and had the replacement working in about 10 minutes. I like the lighted key feature, and this remote feels like its more solid then the original. I would buy again.

Works perfectly. I read all the reviews for this model and was a bit worried - DON'T Worry.Just had DirectTV installed last week. Remote provided was the RC73. This RC73B is almost identical with backlit buttons (when you need them) Light button on side is much better than what we had with COX's (Previous Cable provider). easy to feel and use. THERE ARE NO CLICKING SOUNDS with the buttons or rocker switches that some other reviewer mentioned.Not sure how some others got the RC73 instead of the RC73B. Hopefully they sent them back for Credit or replacement - first thing I checked when it arrived (36 hours after ordering). I'll watch the battery life - but 4 months (someone else upset about that) - is acceptable to me for free battery provided with anything and won't complain.Best of all - the box works with both remotes programed to it and the TV - dueling remotes for Saturday Football games.

Direct tv is great but i cannot believe a backlit remote is not part of the standard package . The standard remote is fairly small and the buttons are not very user friendly . This backlit remote is a godsend . I bought one to try but I’ll be buying five more . It works great . It’s bright and so much easier to use . As another reviewer said , you do have to hit any button to activate the light but it’s not a hassle at all . I just usually hit volume once . Highly recommend .

This is my second one ordering the other one I had for a couple years and the light was still working. The only reason I bought another one is that it seemed like some of the buttons were not quite as effective, which I found that it was my TV box.

Much better than that remote that DirecTV provided. I have a wireless box on my patio and I always thought the poor performance of the remote was do to the wireless. Turns out it was the provided remote. This one works great and the channels change with one click up/down or typing them in. The back light feature is why I bought it and that works fine too. Much easier to see the keys. So I couldn't be happier and pleasantly surprised. Just received today and started using so I can't speak to the battery life or durability. But it seems a bit sturdier than the provided remote as well. DirecTV should give these to customers.

I really like this remote and the lighting for the panel. It was very easy to install and great to use as I usually watch my TV in a darken room.Great buy.
