Building model aircraft for 60 years! Excellent model

This Tamiya kit was a lot of fun to build, although I would have preferred building the standard Lancaster over the Dam Buster version. Everything fit together nicely and there was plenty enough detail work in the cockpit to keep things interesting. My only complaint was having a devil of a time with the decals. The fuselage letter Group markings I particular kept ripping. I supplemented the kits decals with another set I purchased online. When completed it sits much higher than the B-17s and B-24s I've built. It really is a handsome aircraft.

特殊爆弾である、ダム破壊用爆弾「アップキープ」と通常爆弾としては当時最大級であった、10トン爆弾「グランドスラム」を搭載したランカスターが再現できるキットです。キット自体は先発レビュアーが述べている通り1975年に登場した古いキットで、長い生産休止期間を経て、2012年に定番商品として復帰を果たしました。古いながらもイギリスに現存する実機の取材を経て開発されたキットなので、基本的なプロポーションやディテールは良好であり、現在でも通用する良いキットです。マーキングは、アップキープやグランドスラムを運用した特殊部隊である、No.617スコードロン所属機が付属します。現在でも数少ない1/48スケールのランカスターのキットなので、再び生産休止にならない事を祈るばかりです。
