HUGE slide. Don't be fooled by the pics.
We bought this slide sight-unseen. I read the reviews online and my pool builder said he had worked with them in the past and that SR Smith is a good brand. It came within 2 weeks on a huge truck and the delivery guy dolly-pulled it to the backyard. It came in a large 10'+ box. There was a hole in the side of the box, but the slide was unharmed. This is a huge slide. Huge. Let me analogize this for you. Now that you're an adult and you go back to visit something that you haven't seen since you were little, it just seems small? Like a room is way smaller than it felt when you were little? The pools in the 80s seemed to be as tall as an adult and thinnish material. Not exactly flimsy but you know. So when the pool builder took this slide out of the box I was floored. It's way taller, way thicker than I imagined it would be. Slides have changed since the 80s. It seems like great quality and very sturdy. Now that it's installed I can say it's a great addition to the pool. I can not attest to the ease of installation as our builder did it, but he said before it was easy to install (for a pro, that is). It did take him several hours to assemble it and mount the brackets, and 20 minutes for a couple helpers to help him get it up and installed. I guess you could assemble it alone, but I'm not sure I would attempt the install headache unless you are extremely handy. One thing I did not like that I had to buy the mounting kit separately. Can you install it without the brackets? Isn't that all part of the slide kit? So the slide seems like a decent deal (my builder said he could not get it cheaper) but then add on tax and the mounting bracket and that's $300 additional. That doesn't make me happy, but I'm not going to take a star away from the slide quality.I would recommend this slide to anyone in the market. The kids love it and it's fine quality.

Holding Up Well Over Time
Difficult to assemble. Two skilled construction workers initially followed the instructions with much difficulty. Then they disassembled the slide and put it together in almost the reverse order and had no problem getting it set up. Total time was about four hours. We bought the non-included aluminum deck anchors for $104 elsewhere. We bought bolts at Lowes. The water that comes down the slide is insufficient for covering the sides of the slide, just runs down the middle. The kids then get burned by the hot slide outside of the wet area. We hooked a Banzai Wiggling Water Sprinkler (Discontinued by manufacturer) down the side to provide additional water but that's a temporary fix. Not sure how we are going to fix it. I saw construction of a larger water slide and the water came out of two openings on the sides of the top of the slide which initially better coated the surface area. The kids enjoy the slide but not as much as we thought, probably because of the burned bottom issue.Addendum: We recently made some changes to the water delivery system that increased the volume of water to the slide. Now it works fine and no more hot bottoms.

Great slide... Grand kids love it
Much easier to assemble than expected. You'll need someone to help you assemble the two plastic pieces of the slide. This model of slide has a built in water system and includes the white aluminium anchors that Amazon suggests you buy.One problem with the assembly, the OD of the floor legs is larger than the ID of the white aluminium anchors. The paint inside the anchors is a mil or two too thick. I included a couple of pictures with this review.Check this fit when beginning assembly. You may need to take off some of the paint so you can get the legs to slide into place. I used my Dremel to remove the excess paint. You can use sandpaper as well.I gave the slide 4 stars instead of 5 because of the leg to anchor excessive paint removal I had to do.The slide and ladder are sturdy. A solid assembled piece your family will love for years.

Don't do it!
Ok I've had this slide in use for 2 months now so here are the facts; If you want to slide down an unstable piece of sand paper, that is if you can even put it together right, then this is the slide for you. Let me elaborate on each point: 1-even after attaching the legs of the ladder and all the other legs to the pool deck with concrete anchors this slide wobbles a lot, especially the ladder and it feels very unstable. 2-if your skin touches any where outside of the flowing water you will get your skin rubbed off. The manuf only bothered to smooth down the surface where the water flows and no where else so expect your kids hands, shoulders and any other part of their body that touches outside the flow of water to get rubbed off (I.e., like falling down on the side walk and getting a raspberry). 3-I can guarantee you nobody at the manuf has ever put this slide together. Nothing came together as described by the instructions especially trying to align the feet to the pool deck and getting the gasket in between the 2 slide halfs to seal while trying to secure the screws to hold it all together. Oh, one other point the only place that leaked were the screws under the seat, which by the way were pre-installed by the manuf. Bottom line don't be cheap like I did pay the additional 2k-3k-4K and get a decent slide.
