Cold winters (lately it has been around 7F) made so much better with this heating pad. It is sandwiched between the rug and rug pad (1/4” thick). The open concept room feels warmer, but it is the feet that really appreciate when I am barefoot. The heat is warm. When laying down on the rug (e.g., reading or stretching), it is so much more comfy to me with warmth radiating through the rug. This lets me keep the house temperature lower (68F) and still feel comfortable even in short sleeves (I don’t like cold). It does take the chilly edge off of the surrounding wooden flooring as compared to not using.

This under rug heater changed my rv floor from a barely usable space in the cold to warm and livable. A rug gripper is required so have that on hand or order. Allow a 1” margin all around the 24” wide runner ( I purchased) . Tape is included with heater, to tape it to gripper pad. Your rug must overlap heater and gripper. The 170w doesn’t trip the breaker like a space heater. Comfortable to stand on. 5 stars!!

Our kitchen floor is quite cold in the winter, this rug changed the comfort level of the kitchen dramatically.

Using in front of vanity for the mornings and evenings with bare feet. Kinda loud crunchy sound when walking on that is annoying. The way this mat is made incorporates a "foil" surface to contain the heating elements and that makes the sounds. The heated floor mat is between a rug non-slip mat and the rug and does heat nicely. We have it on a timer built for the power draw on a schedule to reflect our needs.

I live in Michigan and have tile on my kitchen floor on a cement slab. Even with an area rug the floor in the winter is so cold. I purchased this in January and used it the rest of the winter. It was great! It worked well and the floor under the rug was nice and toasty. I left it plugged in all the time and did not have any problems. I also purchased the rug mat that goes with it and have been very happy with both. They are now packed away waiting for next winter.

It’s just okay. It is under my wool oriental carpet and takes a long time to be just barely warm. It doesn’t feel as if the heat rises to get a bit of warmth to the area above the rug. Even though I taped it down, it shifted due to people walking over it. I had to lift my sofa to lift the oriental and reposition the heated pad with extra long tape to stick to my wooden floor in hopes of it not moving.

I just can’t imagine a situation in which this product would be useful. I’d say there’s better ways to warm a rug or whatever up that are more multi functional and much less expensive.
