Love this filter, I didn’t think it was good when first purchased the shower head, but you really notice the difference when it needs changing from the old to the new, I found no difference from the old filter to the new filter, yes if you shake it it’s loser than the old one but remember the new one is dry and not been soaking in water as yet! Will continue to purchase on a regular basis.

I have purchased this item as a replacement for the filter that comes with the Philips Shower Handset and it seems to me that it not as good at filtering water.The water filtration happens through many tiny spheres that are inside the filter, like the ones that you see in many other filters of this kind also on amazon. It does not take a scientist or you do not need to analyze the water to know that the more are the spheres inside the filter the more the water gets filtered.Well, I can say with certainty that the spheres in the replacement filter are more or less 1/4 less compared to the original filter. You can clearly feel it when you shake the filter: the "original" one is totally stuffed with the spheres and if you shake it you can barely hear any noise; if you shake the replacement, it sounds like maracas, as it is not totally filled like the original one and the spheres have a lot of free space... Again, you do not need any test to know that, if the number of spheres in the filter is reduced, also the filtration is reduced.The water pressure in my shower also slightly increased with this replacement filter compared to the original, clearly because it finds less resistance going through the filter and this means that the water gets filtrated less . They could charge 10p more per filters (which I think is more or less the value of the spheres they think to save on) instead of doing something that in my opinion is rather squalid.

Easy to install. Cheaper (per unit) than the pack of 3. Replacement lasted longer than the original.
