Gearbox Publishing Astroneer - PlayStation 4 (PS4)

The kids love this (9 year olds). They have picked up quite the vocabulary from it! Such a cool exploration game!

This came up as a recommendation as an alternative to no mans sky, and my husband has been playing it since he got it. It's not as open world as I thought though. The only mobs you encounter are plants that you dig up to kill, and there is no 'house' building aspect to it. Just different machines you built outside of your house pods. The camera angle is a bit glitchy at times which is his biggest complaint to it, but all in all, still says its a good game. Its also good if you have kids, since there is nothing violent in it, and our 5 year old likes to watch him play. The colors of this game are very calming and easy on the eyes and it has a cartoonish feel to it. I would recommend this game.
